I just hate snap covers

If you boat over night and travel distance it’s a necessity. Powell overnight houseboating your boat will fill with sand when the wind starts at night. Go to the Delta for a week or two your boat interior will be drenched with dew every morning, not just a little bit of water. Interior will not dry out. Ozarks at times your boat will be littered with dead bugs and dew every morning.

If you day boat and only drive 5 miles from your house in Havasu it’s not needed.

I’m seriously in awe of this thread. I never knew this was even an issue. Didn't know boats didn’t come with a cockpit cover. Im trippin.

Morning and night shots at the docks of supercat fest west and Desert storm last year.

I think the snaps are ugly, but having a cockpit cover is very useful and I have not seen a good alternative. I use the snap cover pretty much every time I boat away from home, especially when I leave the boat in the water overnight.

Magnetic inlays in the gell with a magnetic cover with felt or something would be cool. No snaps but stays on for the docks and storage like people are talking about

Or maybe a force field you turn on with a key fob.

Snaps seem to be more of East Coast deal. Where they live their boat on a lift or in a slip.
