I have no paper work for my trailer no vin

A family member of mines past away at there house there was a trailer my aunt gave to me she said she had no paper work or couldn't find it there was no vin sticker on it.no vin on the frame the trailer looks like a year old if that how do I get a vin or registration for it? Were would I go I'm nervous to go to the chp an tell them I have this fairly new trailer bit no paper work or vin on it can anyone point me In the right direction?

Tow it to AZ claim home built. That's how I did this one 14k rating.

Just file a mechanics lien on the trailer for "work you did on it",

Just tell the truth, he died. No way to collect payment.

Or just get a receipt from your Aunt, stating you bought it for $400.

There is probably numbers welded on the frame somewhere. Look underneath and on inside of frame rails
Find them and get a bill of sale or gift from your aunt. Then off to dmv for an inspection. DMV will issue a Vin for the trailer.

Never heard that one.
Mine was a guy that worked for a manufacture and was stealing material on the side for himself, he got fired and needed cash, $2500 and I needed to do lights and wiring.

As mentioned above, weld some numbers on the trailer, if you have AAA swing by and talk to them as well, they can assist. When I rebuilt my spectra there were no numbers on the trailer, I had a friend with a CHP buddy and she came by my house and checked the trailer and attached a number plate for me. I believe that if I had just welded numbers on it, called it home built AAA would have run it thru for me.

First-time poster?……Now, I’m not accusing anyone of anything, but why would someone be afraid to ask CHP or any agency about the procedure?
