I had to change radio stations today

I live up in northern Nevada and have been listening to a station out of Reno. I don’t have anything special in my truck so I listen to a classic rock station. DJ comes on this evening and states that Musk, Bazos or Zimmerman have not gave anything towards the LA fires and a couple entertainers have gave 2.5 million and are doing a benefit concert. That’s great. My issue is that if those guys were not on the stage behind the president, would this be a topic? Then I was also thinking, how do you know they have not? I don’t know if that have or not. I don’t give two shits about any of them.

Families who work, and barely make it, people who are doing well in some circles, the common types, give more than those who probably couldn't spend all their money if they tried. Now for my conspiracy therory....in essence, the CIA will release the videos and destroy their reputation. Lots of people believe that Michael Jackson wasn't actually a pedo. Sony Music wanted him to sell/give them the rights to his music and he wouldn't do it. Then the pedo stuff started coming out. I don't have actual knowledge of this, but it makes one think.

This here is a majority of the problem. Most people will want the tax write off for the donation, but in order to get it the money has to go to a legit charity. It cannot be given straight to a deserving person. If that charity is actually on the up and up then they will have minimal overhead expense and the majority of the funds actually go to the people that need it. If its not, or if its a large corporation type charity (American Red Cross for example) then a lot of the money goes to overhead and the percentage that ends up actually helping people is small.

Eliminate the gift tax for qualifying events and allow tax deductions with certain documents denoting the charitable donation directly to an individual and I bet you'd see a lot more poignant donations occuring.

The Katrina robbery in Louisiana was insane, I was in New Orleans the last time Super Bowl was held there as we were prepping the market for the manufacturer I work with. On my flight home I ended up with two ladies next to me who were married to some big players in the state. One was the wife a GM at a very swanky hotel and the other was the wife of a concrete contractor who got a ton of state jobs. These ladies got hammered as we were connecting in Vegas so they were ready to roll. They .had some crazy stories of the shit that goes on down there, this was truly a practice of loose lips sink ships. Some corrupt mothers for sure with big money, they joked about the billions on relief going to the city, wink wink and then they would flash there rings...
