Seldom remember my dreams But last night I had an awesome dream I was walking, walking , walking all over the place like a "normal person" 😍 Cleared all my "pre ops" yesterday (MRIs Xrays, EKG , Blood work etc) , dug out my dusty ass walker from the garage . They say "you'll know when your ready" . After good experiences with a right hip and knee I'm so ready ! Almost a year and a half of gimping around in fukin pain, Left knee coming up . I'm a person who only becomes sedentary after a long day to watch TV , I never stop moving , This has been a self imposed ball buster , waited till the boating season "waned" abit Now I'm ready Next Thursday is D day. Supposed to be "outpatient" again so over the pain !

Having been through 2 back surgeries this year, so far, I can sympathize. Best of luck.

Wife goes in Monday for tkr #1. She is scared to death. 1/2024 scheduled for #2 if #1 goes well.
Tell Her Ice is her best friend (reduces swelling and pain relief) also dont baby it , get on it walk and get moving forward . As for fear , understandable but modern strides in this field even in the last several years are amazing

Knees are no walk in the park. You have had your right one done so you already know that. Hopefully the left one comes out great. Moving around without out pain is worth the temporary discomfort post surgery.

Poor lady, assure her it’s no big deal, just do your homework and find right Dr. i’ve had both done and well worth it. Best of luck to the little woman.

Not a pleasant operation. Just talk with people and their experiences with any particular surgeon. In my neck of the woods numerous residents have used same Doctor all with great results. We have several RN's in our Sub they also speak highly.
My wife used this Doctor, knee care out great. Will be 2 years this coming February.

Also there is a silicon tape for scars. Seems to make the scar less noticeable.
First Knee was 18 staples (very uncomfortable for a belly sleeper) , then 5 years later the Hip incision was about as long and got "superglue" (no stiches) Over the incision the put a water proof bandage for a week (and said showering was OK , Thank God) , then the body slowly "sluffs off the glue" Both mine have 6" scars , But the Chicks dig scars right ? 🤣

Because I live a ways out I get home nurse and home PT , Once home next week I will be stuck there for a while fortunately we have a large office in the home for me to recoup and work from home

Pretty sure the wife had regular sutures. She doesn't remember. Scar looks really good. When she bends her knee scar is barely noticeable.
I've seen some that look like they used a chainsaw.

Chicks dig scars, maybe depends on where they are at??
