Think again, bought some for my SD and they worked great for the first month or so... now they won't retract unless you ratchet them manually.

GM's steel bed isn't any better, the same toolbox that poked a hole in the F150 aluminum bed also poked a hole in GM's steel bed

Good point. I does seem like relatively new Ford truck bed exterior finishes look a little bumpy, I suspect from use because they look good when new.
