I-40 West Labor Day Traffic

I saw on google maps that there was the construction and backup on I-40 around the Essex off ramp and that the road south through Amboy was closed.

I checked it out and saw a road closed sign.....Drove past it to check it out.

Was going 90mph and didnt see a soul for 33 miles till Kelebaker road.

There was 3 bridges closed, but there was off roads that took you down and through the wash and back on the road.


It sure beat sitting in that backup.

Im sure that bypass saves me 1.5 hrs or so of sitting in traffic.

Did the same, other then getting the truck a bit dusty was definitely the way to go if you left Havasu after 10 am. Loved breaking the law

Did the same yesterday. Got off at Goffs Rd. and enjoyed the scenic drive on Route 66 :thumbsup
