Haha , they are not that bad once you get used to them. I get worried working around finished product and swinging to far and causing damage the the finishes. Working on structural steel and you swing to far one way, just bump the building and stops , no harm no foul.

It's not bad when your next to something like that wall but if you are just out in the open it's scary !!

I've worked off of a 125 ' knuckle boom working on stadium lights. When you're up there and there's a breeze I remember looking at the pole swaying . It kinda feels like you got vertigo. You don't know if it's the pole or you moving. It's a trip. I like the view point you get

Once you get used to them its really not bad but the first time going up in a 125 is definitely a little sketch. I think swing stage is way worse.

Ive been in a boom at about 90', its not fun. You fart and the thing sways left and right a few feet. Had to climb 125ft light poles, those SUCK!! Worst ones were at Redlands College football field. I think the poles were built by old man Redlands... fricken old home made deals where they just kept sliding small size pipe into another and welding it. The basket was all 2" L-metal with expanded metal floor. Those were SKETCHY AF!!!

Never like being over street traffic working on🚦. You never know if you got high enough to clear the bus or trash truck.

The worst part is the swaying, after being in one for a day, you're swaying for a bit after you get out.
yup.

Oh you want to move 1" and now we are swaying 2' back and forth lol

Worst I have done was a single stack of scaffolding about 45' high. yea there is some sway to it. You get used to it after little while. My guess is the same thing with this.

Never was afraid of heights much. Fell off a sand cliff at the beach when I was 10 and landed on a rock on my stomach, got hurt bad. Made myself conquer heights after that to get rid of the fear.
Couple years ago jumped on a monster ferris wheel with my Niece and about cried when it rolled over the apex and they stopped, something has changed with me and can't do heights anymore comfortably.

I guess it must be the addict/adrenaline junkie in me, but I always loved working from those.

The best is when you have a "virgin" in the basket with you, showing them operation and abilities. After rolling around a little bit, turning the turret and such, run that F'r up towards the clouds. At full extension, bounce your weight and say "see how stable it is?"
Been screamed at by some burly guys, damn near in tears 😂

I had to take an inspector up about 80 feet to inspect a pier cap in one. I have no idea why but my hand eye coordination was just really off that day. Mind you when we got up top, that we needed to climb up and over the basket and the pier cap handrail onto the Osha wood planks. He was not a happy person that day, but the inspection went well and we were not up there very long.

I was in a South Korea shipyard a few years back and they had a lift like in the OP on a barge up about 80-100’. 2 guys doing some work on the side of a ship. That basket was swaying a lot 😱

Scaffolding I had built to get to one side of a house we were painting. First time I painted it I did it from ladders.
Guys on the ladder are not mine. Just a job near mine. Notice the Shitbird thats supposed to be spotting... I would have beat him.

The stuff I notice: Damn, that's a nice 3-fly ladder 😂

I'd have inspectors come out, scared as hell to climb a 40ft fiberglass ladder. Now I see on big jobs they put in scaffolding/staircases...wimps!

Working off the wood poles puts me at ease because a pole ain't going anywhere really. It could but changes are.... Well slim

Working off a bucket, knuckle boom, is cool but you ain't lived until you work out of the crane basket!!! Haha one guy stabilizes the other guy works, and well when you're up over a 100' the 3' side wall to keep you in feels like it's only 6" tall haha

I was caulking some stucco to wood joints 5 stories up on one of those. You move that joystick just a hair....and the damn basket swings three feet. I bumped the building a few times before I had it figured out. Sketchy place to work indeed.

Painted the Titan Missle silo at Martin Marietta in the early 90s. Got to ride in that tiny basket a few times. Operater was at about 120'. I got the privilege of painting the 100' steel doors. Took a week. My heart still pounds thinking about it.

Been using Condors for 25 years you pretty much get used to it . Also once you use a 125' or a 150' for a couple months an 80 is child's play . These black 80's were full stick for months on a movie called Gray Man and the orange 125's and 150's were need to get over the sets . Grids were 80' to the bottom .
