Played La Costa last week. Started out well, but got a little sloppy and drunk after the turn. My targeted 85 migrated up to a 94 after a few 7s on the card. LOL Greens had recently been sanded. First time playing the Legends Course.

How I ended up today only second time golfing got first par today on 9. Need to work on short game. All solid contact and straight hits but either a little short or long.

Great round for second time out. Really good. The saying drive for show, putt for dough is very true. My advice: Don’t worry about hitting a driver a mile, decent distance in the fairway should be the goal. Practice 100 yard shots. When you get in trouble, layup to 100 and limit the damage. Spend as much time as possible chipping and putting. That’s the difference between someone who can score and people that hit it a mile and shoot 120’s.

Emerald Canyon in Parker gave me the same shit.... only front 9 is open. I drove by the course this morning and it definitely looks terrible though lol

My father in law told me same don’t go for that mike long shot make contact keep it straight. On a range if I try and whack it I screw up it hits top of ball or way sideways. My cousin who’s really good told me short game short game. I’ll probably go out next week again.

Course was open at Havasu club I considered just playing but since hadn’t played in couple years and lot of the fairways lined with houses with large windows didn’t wanna chance it.

That’s the right way to do it another thing I was taught when starting out is when you get in trouble make the smart play and get it back into play when you try a miracle shot is when the large numbers come into play. Also a lot of time when your around the green and debating between chipping and putting “ a bad putt is sometimes better then a good chip.

102 at Westridge today..... only 2 pars, 11 3-putts and one 4-putt. Didn’t lose a ball until the 16th hole. Then I lost another on the 18th.

The good news- Drives are going straight and the irons are phenomenal. I just need to work on chipping and putting more.

For punishment my buddies and I do 10 push-ups for every 3-putt and 20 push-ups for a 4-putt... I ended up doing 130 push-ups before walking off the 18th green, lmao

Broke 90’s today for the first time ever. Shot an 89 at Fullerton. Ended up losing 2 balls (both on 3) had 4- 7’s and one birdie.

Played in a best ball tournament yesterday to support my nephew's little league. We shot 5 under but wasn't good enough.

I did win the longest drive and got $50 bucks for it, so I bought some more raffle tickets and didn't win shit lol.

Had a blast though. weather was perfect!

It was $69 (plus another $10 for a couple of silver bullets). Definitely cheaper than most So Cal golf.
They have quite a few membership packages available that make it more affordable if you play a lot.
