Not disinformation.

My son is in Asheville. My son is a Lineman and a Marine.

He said the guys working there do not understand why the logistics to get help to these people are being blocked and he assured me it is happening.
There is also more dead than are being reported.

I have been getting texts from him randomly when he has a connection.


I think we can all agree that the government is corrupt beyond anything we could imagine and once again we see it in action.

Biffle has been flying since the wind died down. He is still flying. He lives in the area, has owned his own helicopter since he drove in Cup, and is going to fly whether or not they like it. He invited friends to come help, and they did. And I do not see an elected sheriff arresting Greg Biffle in NC. It would not poll well. Arresting some random guy from SC? No one would know them.

Unfortunately, there are still many people who are not getting the assistance they need. Their local emergency resources are overwhelmed. A “way ahead” is difficult to comprehend at this moment. They need our help. I delivered a trailer full of chainsaws, generators, electrolytes/hydration and more that people asked for. We will be sending more direct support. This morning, we held a joint fundraiser with my non-profit We Must Protect (100% volunteer run) and TTG Training and raised over $45k, all of which will go directly to Hurricane Helene survivors. The problem, I think, is that there are rumors and misunderstandings mixed with the facts, so it’s easy for them to dismiss everything as lies. I’m going to remain very skeptical of anything I read or hear, until I’ve digested it for a while.

So even though I am an America first type of guy. Having been born in Lebanon and spent my first 7-8 years of life there and eventually having to move to the US due to the civil war situation, my dad and all my uncles fought against the likes of Hezbollah… I have to fact check a bit… most of the Lebanese citizens do not want them (Hezbollah) to exist in their country, but unfortunately the group had become more powerful than the Lebanese military, which led to where they are today. I’d guess 60-70% of your everyday citizens do not want them there. Honestly I see the silver lining in Israel fucking them up as a possible good thing, I just hope they do a good job of minimizing civilian casualties.

Regardless, the US should handle business here first. Interesting fact one of the first big countries to offer humanitarian aid to Lebanon in recent events was Russia. US is late to the game as far as aid is concerned.

Your perspective is interesting.

I disagree about the U.S. being late with the aid though. We don’t even have the funding necessary for our own people, and I question whether the aid to Lebanon will even get to the innocent civilians.

I agree with that as well. Who knows what amount will actually help the displaced citizens and who know what group gets their hand on the money.

Like I said, handle business here first. Just pointed out them being late as in Russia who is in the middle of their own war had already been flying in supplies for humanitarian aid. Not saying the US needs to do anything.

I think the problem with that (Russia beating us with aid) is part of Russia’s “satellite building” where they are setting the hook in these places to counter western nation influence, and also so they (Russia) can push their proxy fight through their satellites.

I know it costs us money to send aid, but it will cost us more if the nation cuddles up to Russia, too, and is now more of a pain in the ass than it would have otherwise been.

Where is the liberal MSM when it comes to reporting on Fed Govt progress in western NC? The prior AP post stated nothing about progress and help. That report even brought Russia and China into their story.

I think Israel is a unique case. The Allies were looking for a solution after WW2 for all the displaced Jewish families. For some reason they decided dropping them into present day Israel was the solution, yet it was placing a religion into close proximity with a competing religion and they didn’t get along. So the Allies felt compelled to arm and support the fledgling community so it wouldn’t get wiped out again.

For some reason everyone blames America for Israel but whatever. I guess we will make sure that flame doesn’t go out.

But yes, every European nation was keen on building or developing friendly colonies/countries across the globe, well before the US existed. Yet everyone just says it’s an American problem. It’s a shame world history doesn’t seem to be popular in school anymore. I’m getting tired of America being the world’s punching bag for all the problems. Damned if we do and damned if we don’t.

The resources are spreading thin, but NC’s are use to buckling down.
I was in Cary, NC when an Ice storm hit. Our hotel was on generator power for 3 days before power was restored in the area. As soon as I could get a flight, I flew back home.

Biggest problem with Ice, are the trees that fall on the power lines. It takes days to get the roads cleaned off.

From the pictures I’ve seen, there are no roads left in many areas to clean. Waterline infrastructure gone. Sewer gone.

Where do you start…..or do you leave, and began. The next one is coming. 😦

It's been 108 years since they had this kind of flooding in that area. I think they can rebuild. It's not like this is New Orleans where they are building below sea level..

There were very specific reasons why Isreal was created where it is.
Not just “some reason”.
A quick scan of Genesis/ Exodus, and a brief history of the 12 Tribes (about 900 years before Jesus, and 1500 years before Mohamed and Islam existed) right on into Roman times, the crucifixion, and ending in 1948 with the erasure of British Partition of Palestine and the creation of Isreal.

It was actually a “re-creation” of the Holy Land, and a homecoming as it were for “Israelites”.

But yes, I agree 100% about history being washed away.
Ironically, that started with a big flood too…

Strictly speaking…modern day Isreal is 43 years older than modern day Russia…which became Russia in 1991.

Now, if I see the sheriff on video saying how many bodies he's bagged, I'll believe it. I'm a Historian. I deal in primary sources whenever possible.
