I am on multiple other boating website. Mainly East Coast sites. Somebody posted this earlier. It’s a webcam, that is right in the path of storm. I just took a look and it appears to still be waiting for the heavy stuff to arrive.

I am guessing that if you go to this webcam, as the storm hits land, you will probably see quite a show.

The webcam is located in the lighthouse, at St George Island Beach, Florida

I don't watch a whole lot of TV but when I'm home my TV is always on the weather channel. Extreme weather interests me and I like a little background noise and something to look at when I'm wondering around the house. Might have to stay up past my bedtime tonight to see how this one transpires.

It currently looks like it is going to hit land at 8pm (est).

I can’t imagine you go to bed that early? Grandpa Lol

Last I heard it was around 10. I should be able to hang around until 8:00. 🤣

Went for a walk around the neighborhood. The gusts are getting more frequent and interesting.
Palm limbs flying around. Just wish this wind was an early fall cool front but….

I live 4 miles west of the Ocean. Most people know the Cocoa Beach name so I use that as a reference. I will be more descriptive next time.
I was just giving you a hard time since I grew up in the same area. 👍 I usually include a ton of sarcasm in my posts, sorry if that didn't come across that way.

😫😫😫

I live in Melbourne. Lots of folks outside Florida don't know of Melbourne, but Cocoa Beach seems everybody does.

Damn Damn Damn, washed my patio off the other day moved the grills out of the way. They are always covered when not in use. Looking at the hourly weather wind velocity was not suppose to go over19mph. Well I forgot the wheel locks on one grill wind kicked up to 30 mph blew the sob off the patio and tipped over...😞😞

It’s blowing 45mph here. To our surprise, some of our patio furniture blew over. We had to bring it in.

Side note: Fort Meyers is getting a lot of storm surge right now.

Second side note…….. The news has started using the words “unsurvivable” for those not evacuating it‘s path.

Give me break. Do you all you news stations have to be so dramatic? Rant over

You nailed it, only locals seem to know of those other nearby communities. Our family is in Cocoa out by 95 and 520. I haven't been back in a few years, but have AMAZING memories growing up there. I love that part of Florida!!

Do you ever go to Capt Hiram’s in Sebastian? It’s a fun place. You can boat to it too. Last time I was there…… I saw Metalicious play.

The Sever Weather Channel I'm watching just confirmed the storm will make landfall as a Cat 4 storm. That's going to be catastrophic if that's the case. Looks like it's moving slightly to the east, which means it could be closer to Cedar Key.

I was thinking of Earls Hideaway Lounge
It’s not just an outdoor bar. It a complete entertainment space that set in a tropical oasis setting. Calling it a bar is a disservice. It has live music, and several areas to get food and drink. It is well done. Metalicious really draws a crowd, if you choose a night they are playing the circuit. Trust me, it’s a fun place!

I really enjoy going to Stans when in Naples/Marco Island area. Tried going in August only to find that they close for the summer...

I've been to Stan's by boat once (I want to say around June), all I've got to say is there's some old folks that seriously know how to party! Everyone should experience Stans at least once. It really can't be explained.

Best day to go is Sunday. Huge crowds. What I enjoy is I've seen Ferrari's and Bentlys in the parking lot and you cannot pick out who is who. Throw in a few homeless people, lots of bikers. Fun Day !!

It was a Sunday when I was there...all the characters were there. The witch lady and the gift shop is what I remember the most. There was large amounts of beer involved so details are a little fuzzy.

The sports cars mixed with a 2nd gen dodge mixed with bikes couldn't be further from the truth. It was the same way in a Walmart parking lot in Naples too.

God I miss Florida

I think we’re getting all she’s got now.
Pretty much the usual 2’ surge. I’m on the east side of the bay so maybe a little worse on the beach.

I wonder how it is now, my cousin lives in Naples and we cannot get a hold of them. Last Hurricane he said house to his left and right got heavy damage and his was untouched in amazement, hope he is that lucky again. Nephew lives in Miramar/Destin he said it is going to miss them just some rain and wind. Any more news from your FIL?

My biggest customer is in Lehigh acres near fort myers. Curious how bad it’ll be for them.

I haven't spoke to any Naples family since around noon their time, but I suspect SWFL is doing somewhat okay. Clearwater going north I would be a little more worried about.

Just saw some pics they posted a couple of hours ago. Their garage was under water during the last hurricane. so far it looks a lot better this time, but the water is still pretty high.
