A buddy of mine would hunt them with his knife and pit bulls in the Santa Ana River bottom at night and sell them to some Vietnamese guy who would eat them. They were huge. Crazy as shit hunting alone like that. He did it a few years before he joined the railroad and moved to Havasu. He was like 22 at the time. He skinned and cut up a few but said it was way too much.

That's a boatload of sausage! If you need some places to unload a few packages of sausage, I'd be down. Never turn away free game. 😉

My buddy Brian hunted pigs there the same way for years. Graduated from a gun to a bow which is just nuts. Finally one night the boar was getting the best of his best pitbull, 110 lb veteran of many many hunts. Brian went to help the dog and they all ended up thrashing around in a deep section of water. In the end man and dog won out, but he retired the pitbulls and now hunts with some rare rat terrier of some kind.
His daughter works for CA Forestry in Monterey. She has the most pigs killed in the entire state and has only been working with them for 3 yrs. She also surfs bigger waves than you can imagine. Mom's family is pure Hawaiian.

We have wild hogs out here we have processed a couple of them. Mostly now just get the back straps out of them. And in case you're ready to do the Buffalo there is a ton of me literally

Went to a private ranch outside or Kingman last year and shot this 400lb sow. They stock the place with three types of pig/boar and a bunch of other animals. It was some good eating and for reference I am 6’8”
