Robert.
I wish there was room. I'm in process of relocating equipment to other facilities.
Sounds like the mill and lathe are going to the engine shop that built the mills for the O.G. headless hula. Need to find a home for the compressor, and the wire feed. I'm planning on keeping the tig.
Really need to look at what I NEED to keep for roll away boxes.

My lot here on the water is barely 7500 sf....

I've consolidated quite a bit since I moved. I have the same amount of shop space, just a bit shittier layout. I've gotten rid of so much shit it's nuts...and refreshing.

So what is the story behind “headless hula”? Inquiring minds want to know.:p
Lol... was kinda waiting for this question to pop up. Folks that know me from way back, know where it comes from. You'd have to go look at my build thread in the restorations and upgrades thread. I built up a little 20'baja outlaw than turned out kinda ok. :p
I originally bought the boat with a cracked block, and fixed it all up. Purchased it in April, launched it for the first time on the fourth of July 2015.
It didn't sink, didn't burn to the waterline, I had my family out on the water to watch the 4th of July fireworks and all was right in the world. When I went to go look at the boat, it had a little hula girl in the cupholder. Her "sticky" had gave up...
While in the thrashing to get the boat on the water, I replaced the sticky stuff, and plopped her ass back on the dash where she belonged.....

So after the 4th festivities, I was pressure washing all the schmoo off the boat the next morning, and made a pass across the dash. Poor hula chic smashed her head against the fiberglass windshield and snapped her head clean off.

It was at that very moment that I knew what the boats name should be.

The rest is history. Over time. I've kinda morphed into the "headless hula", and everything I mess with is hula related.

I've been out to havasu a bunch, met a ton of members, shook hands, had beers with, in general just hung out...

I like it out there, just not enough to commit to moving out full time.

That's the short version. :p

I have 10 acres and an 1800 sf building filled with equipment. I've since moved to a 7200 ish sf lot and have the worst excuse for a garage on the planet.
It's a bit of an adjustment.

Shit Sean, don't give your stuff away, LOAN it with the understanding it will come back to you in 2 years, then get back into kick ass mode when you are done with your house.

Money back up then build the shop even better than before!

And yet another of life's mysteries resolved. Never wanted to ask, but always wondered where it came from . Knew there must be a story, and sure enough.

I need to grow the business a bit, then grab a commercial property to hide my toys. Lolol. This summer is already looking promising. ;)

Not ready to cough up the 150,200k to do it right.....

Never hesitate to ask questions. Its how we all learn. ;)

Yes but for me, I've found your various entertaining build threads to be rather therapeutic in a rather odd way.
From page one -- pic one, I find myself swimming in questions, "Why's he doing that, What's he doing there, so WTF's are in abundance"
So rather than to pester you with questions and or provide proof of my aged ignorance, I'm learning and practicing the art of "Patience" :)
Allowing the lesson to flow through me while quietly humming a calming mantra, enjoying what is provided while resisting the temptation to ask for more. ;)
In most all cases, within a few pages, my questions have been answered and my ignorance remains my secret, LOL :p:D OH yeah and I'm learning patience

My only regret is waiting so long to cut the hole. Wow. Its bright in here.

Perfect location for clearstory awning windows. I used them in a few locations in my house as it allows me to vent the heat from the hi-ceiling area with a minimum of security concerns. Plus with them open and a lower window open you get great vertical circulation. The ones with the bottoms at 10' I can use a manual crank on, the ones at 20' are motorized.

Ya think that clock is big enough? Just askin' cause a friend was curious.
:D

Lookin' good Bud.
If I stumble downstairs in the middle of the night, I want to know what time it is. I usually don't sleep with my contact lenses :D

So I bought I bigfuckinclock and hung it where I could see it.:p

My initial thought was they might be kinda long. I was wrong. It looks good.
I wondered too. I used masking tape and laid out the size on the uppers before i ordered them. The scale looked good in pencil, so I got em comin. With those uppers being 42" tall, it works.:D
