First time I've seen this large of an HTM. What's the deal on these?

You guys call those bakers? I’d say that’s a perry and a baker is the much smaller roll and fold. Perry got bought out by nu wave (who recently offered me a pretty good gig) though so I guess none of it matters anymore.

I get to work at the ITC in Vegas so I het to see guys from all over he country and Canada. Crazy how different some people refer to different tools or even building elements. Like a soffit or bulkhead. It’s the same thing but depends on what part of the country you are in

Like people who call all skidsteers a Bobcat or all telescopic reach forklifts a Pettibone. Those are brands that encompass many different types of equipment lol

FWIW I’m calling that Baker Scaffold [emoji38]
It’s called a grade all 😂😂 at the training center fork lift and gradall classes are called PITO. Power industrial truck operator. Boom lift, as of dec 2019 those are no longer aerial lifts they are mewps. Mobile elevating work platforms. I make a lot of money teaching mewps every Saturday 🤷‍♂️ No more chains, automatically closing gates. Top rail is now 43.3” there is now owner user operator and occupant. I make an 8 hour class of that 😜

I just had to complete 8 hours of AWP/MEWP train-the-trainer. I’ll never use it as our safety coordinator does all of the customer and employee training.

Gradall’s were great machines. JLG bought the line and closed it down. Everyone still calls all reach forks, Gradall’s. [emoji38]

The term is telehandler, lol
At least that’s what we call our robot by design

I call them skytracks, or grab the forklift, because it's the only type of lift we use in the field. Gradalls suck, rear steer only. In other regions they call them Lulls, obviously another brand like gradall, skytrack, etc...we do this with so many tools all of us are guilty.

Yes I derailed the thread, or you can call me a thread jacker. Same same.

@LowRiver2 that is a JLG no matter what you call it, yes Telehandler is the correct term however.

JLG took over a lot of brands, even the Caterpillar chasis is made by JLG.

Yes it’s a JLG design: 4 wheel steer “crab walk” and all

Cat was smart to use it, JLG was a decent design.
CAT bought a turd for asphalt millling:
It’s a Volvo design

Wirtgen builds the best Asphalt milling machines hands down. Road Tec’s and all other brands last 1/2 as long.
Germans have the road work mills down. Hamm rollers are also the best along with vogele’s for paving machines.

Back to HTM’s
I recall a recovered stolen one years ago, big cat for sure.

We used it in Occupy LA to get the idiots out of the fort and trees.
Put 5 SWAT Cops harnessed into the basket, raised it up and snatched them.

some protestors in other trees saw the ass whoopings and slid down the trees they were in.

Too funny.

Isn't this the model that Steve and crew went down in at Castiac?
Yes, although I think it didn't really have any interior. My 24' was my first "big" boat. I wanted a cat (I was coming from a 18' Mirage) and the HTM looked to fit the bill. Great storage, awesome cabin, etc. All of the armchair quarterbacks talked shit on them, but I loved ours. Alot of them were built with BIG hp, and with big hp back then, speeds were creeping into the 140's on a single. They bow steered a little if under 50'ish, but rode great after that. I had 750hp, and ours ran 107. Not the greatest in Havasu poker run slop, but a fun boat. I heard the 30 had the same quirks, and Steve's wife campaigned a red one with big blower motors for sometime. I think it also raced for awhile too? Looks like a great boat.

Yeah we got I believe the 4th or 5th boat out of the mold back when Steve was still rigging from his house in Aqua Dulce. I agree with the term "drivers boat" when referring to HTM's...ours kind of rode like shit until you broke it loose around 60mph....then from that to about 85 was fun...after 90 it got a little too squirrelly for the faint of heart.
