Congrats on the build. Thanks, yea 10 years ago 1050 for sure. Man I lost a lot of sleep over that decision for me I just can't justify spending an extra $55k, I am sure it would be fun to drive with that power though! I will be going with a 600 SCI XR with the ITS. I am going with the black out option, tinted windshield, upgraded audio, vessel view, snap in carpet, and ultra suede interior. After I get the boat I will call Whipple and order the stage 3 upgrade.
I’ve always wondered this. How many boats do they do a year ?
Last I was told when we were looking was they were building about 12 a year. That was back in 2017 so things might have changed.I’ve always wondered this.

No, the molds do not have lines for guides. There are patterns though. The tricky part is how they are executed! It is awesome to see how great the people are that gel coat!I am truly amazed at just how a gelcoater can tape and spray those flowing designs. The old boats had fairly straight lines...These are continually curving! I wonder if the mold has those lines as guides?

I do this for a living and it still amazes me how some guys lay it down. No, the molds do not have lines for guides. There are patterns though. The tricky part is how they are executed! It is awesome to see how great the people are that gel coat!
You guys are artists!! I was blown away when I got to see my boats being taped in the mold! To be able to visualize the design and then execute it inside out and tape it while hanging in the mold upside down! And a left and right side!!I have seen molds with a basic grid pattern on the decks as a basic guide.
A long, long! time ago
What you see on this thread is pure talent.
I do this for a living and it still amazes me how some guys lay it down.
Some will create a pattern to lay it out.
Others will freehand one side, then pull a pattern to make the other side.
Other guys absolutely will not use a pattern. Period.
Yet looking at the boat one would swear they had to have used a pattern of some sort?
The old saying
There’s more than one way to skin a cat comes to mind
Going to be AMAZING!!!! Getting closer!!! How much longer? How is Hamlett doing these days?Had a chance to stop by today here are some progress photos.
