Definitely threw a curve ball on the Av fuel. It was so convenient and not it’s a pita. I fueled up last week and told told myself why I can’t have basic shit. View attachment 1363903
Yeah I had I not been stuck at home recovering from an unplanned surgery I probably would've took a couple of my old race fuel barrels over and filled them. I feel like this is the first time in a decade I haven't been there for this weeks events. I guess I'm going to be tuning for pump gas🤬

I think the food costs should be excluded unless you eat out more at the river. You still have to eat if you were at home.

Also most people will spend $ on entertainment and other things to do if not at the river so that can help offset some of the $ spent there.

When you factor that in it doesn’t cost nearly as much as it seems. There are many times where I feel like we spend more if we stay home.

Right?

I was wondering if some people only eat when they go on river trips??

🤷‍♂️😜

Havasu airport was pretty easy last weekend. 6.20 a gallon.

A lot depends on where we go boating. If staying local - could be anywhere from $200-$500, factoring in gas, food & drinks. If it's a Powell, Parker or Havasu trip, then it's probably $1000-$2000, because we had to add in lodging.

So what I've learned during this thread is a mod-vp with a 225 pro max (my dream boat) wouldn't save me much in the long run on gas money due to high 2 stroke oil price, save money on VRBO by buying my own pad but don't tally up the utilities bills 😂😂

This year we will only get to go a few times because of kids sports and other obligations. As stated earlier, it is easier to get to the river now before kids activities take over!

Truck Gas: $200
Boat Gas: $200, not nearly as high as others.... Parker is not that big and we like to find a beach that the kids can play on.
Food/Booze: 300-400 for weekend. We also pack lunch’s when we can and make breakfast at the house.
Eating out: Usually will go out for a dinner one night and to breakfast another morning, so maybe another $250-350
VRBO: Always stay on the water with a group, but per family it is around $700 for a 3 day weekend.

I also store it in Parker, so we have storage costs each year of $4,000. I try to do the annual maintenance myself, which comes in around $400-1,000 or so in oil, filters, and any other upgrades I should take care of in the off season. The boat is in good shape so not much needs to be done to it each year. the engine is aging I am sure the time will come for a large bill.... it just hasn't happened yet.

Insurance is about $600 year.

As we launch often since we live within 15 minutes from the launch i figured last year 125$ per launch. And 85% of our outings are between Needles and Topock only.
