I guess this only applies to CA boaters but I was wondering if I should put the Quagga sticker on with the registration numbers? I never have before but I'd hate to get pulled over for something stupid like that.

Yup required. California lakes are not supposed to let you on unless it is on the boat. (CA numbered boats only)

My boat is registered in AZ so not required but what was the fee amount for this sticker and what is it supposed to do for Ca/NV boaters other than cost you more $$ every year.

So basically the fees collected from this quagga sticker go to the bullet train right.:D

I haven't displayed them since they came into effect years ago. I had to pay for them with the registration so they know I've got them.
I do keep them on the boat with a copy of the registration, insurance ect. So I guess if push came to shove I could put them on.
Only once at Cottonwood Cove after an OUI/safety check have I been asked about them... and that is in Nevada.

No, I also don't register my boat. The only body of water I really care about someone kicking me off is Powell and they accept my coast guard registration.

If I recall manufacturers have to put those on after a certain year but as boat owners we can take them off. But don't quote me on the being able to take it off, as far as I'm concerned the buffer ripped it off.:D

Freaking stupid requirement

You can't reg unless you pay for the quad sticker, so they got your $$.

Why am I required to display it along with my year sticker. It's obvious I had to pay for it when I completed the registration or I couldn't have gotten the year sticker......

It's like waist high flame!!!

Just wondering, does every CF get taxed for this or is it limited to Colorado River running.

I always said the same thing (you can't get your Reg without paying the fee, so the sticker is a waste). So, someone in the state government has a Brother In Law that owns the sticker company that makes the stickers. LOL.

I was told that if your boat is registered in California and only used in the ocean, you don't have to pay the fee. Therefore they need the sticker to see that you paid the fee and didn't claim your boat was for ocean use only.

I didn't mind so much when the Stickers were red and matched my boat. The blue one sucks ass... but not as much as the green one will. :D

At Folsom Lake, the way the Rangers like to cruise the boat ramp looking for minor violations, I wouldn't risk it.

In all seriousness, I imagine the extra stickers have a lot to do with raising awareness of the issue. We like to think that everyone who boats the river knows about the issues, but we also like to think that everyone who boats the river should know how to launch and retrieve...post up at Site 6 next weekend and let me know how much truth there is to that.

I don't mind the sticker, or the extra $20. It's $20 FFS. I know...give an inch and they'll take a mile, but the mussels are a real issue....I don't mind supporting it.

Nope. I carry them with my registration and insurance. Soon, I’ll have to add my CA boating license to the pile of shit that I need to carry in the boat

Memorial weekend, two years ago as I was leaving the Landing, SB County Sheriff pulled me over and gave me a ticket for not displaying the sticker. This is 10:00 inthe morning, just the wife and I. Heard they got about 20 people that day. So yes, the ugly sticker now gets displayed.

A few years back the State of CA dept of waterways formed an exploratory committee and was approaching marine dealers by phone an emails in an effort to create potential "Mussel inspections stations" where we would do an prelaunch inspection and issue some type of permit .... Ya that worked out well right ? typical, bureaucratic bullshit spent money went nowhere ;)
