I filled my fireplace. The house stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter. Fire pit is where it's at thesevdays.

I have 3 in my house. 4 if you count the freestanding electric one that’s in a room.

growing up we had a wood burning stove and I remember it producing a ton of heat and being super effecient. my regular hearth fireplace is almost useless other than making the house smell like smoke.

I find it kind of ironic that the left banned fireplaces (and other things related too). And now here is a left leaning person is starting threads asking who can have one?

I almost couldn’t believe it when I heard they banned them in new construction, but nothing surprises me anymore..

That’s about right. They just want to tell you what to do. Don’t look what they are doing though.

Wood burning. Converted it to gas with the fake logs and all that.

Wood burning outside as well.

Use em both regularly.

Had wood burning fire places in previous homes we had. Converted them to gas and couldn't be happier. Our place now have a three sided one, throwing so much heat, we don't even bother turning the forced air furnace on:).We keep the two doors to downstairs shut Bought two electric fireplace for downstairs when we have visitors, or I want to play pool or watching movies on the big screen, during winter months.
I'm disappointed that your pal Newsom didn't declare ban on wood burning stoves and fire places, but I'm sure it's in the process to announce it soon.:p

Nothing shocks me about building codes in ca any more. If you ever want to give yourself a migraine ready title 24 that is energey efficiency for ca. Some of the stuff in there is just plain stupid

Also banned new installations of natural gas in residential construction in some California counties.

Thereby forcing the homeowners to purchase all electric homes and pay the criminal California electric rates instead of using natural gas that's now selling for roughly $2.55/mmbtu.

We have two 50 gal water heaters and a gas cooktop, our bill is less than $30/month.

We burn pretty much every day from November until February.
Kids like to set up their

tent and sleep by the fire on the weekend.

We know you're a hypocritical liberal attention whore. What're you gonna do when your ultra-liberal state outlaws fires of any kind? You gonna break the law and have a fire then or you gonna obey the Kalifornia socialist state?

Get ready - just like they want to take away all guns and ammo, they're taking away your freedoms (fires and natural gas are just 2 more nails in the Koffin) while you smile obliviously to what's going on there

We have a wood burning stove now. Way better than a fireplace I think. The dogs and cats love it also.

Hypocrite liberal Cocksucker!
Burning wood, putting Co2, ash, carbon monoxide other green house gasses and solid particulates into the air.
Some poor spotted owl probably lost his home as well as countless other creatures that his ilk are always striving to save. Typical, do as I say not as I do.
Do you suppose he paid for some carbon credits so he could have a comfort fire.:D

HUGE Iron Maiden fan here. Is that what is with The Prisoner screen name?

I grew up cruising and racing Muscle cars. Heavy metal was (and still is) the perfect compliment to that scene. Had to crank it to hear the music over our 3" cut exhaust systems but we did.

I hope you don't disrespect Steve Harris's legendary gallop by playing it in your faggy smart car. You can play Judas Priest and Queen in there if you must. lol
