I think I missed one in the photo....is the gentleman in the front row and long sleeved light colored shirt Ron Ossenberg? If so, I haven't seen him in 40 + years -- at one time the super sales person for Eliminator.
That’s him!

Why is kuklish in that group.
I remember him being part of the Glamis group since I was like 15
Shoemaker, Winzen, Sullivan, Kuklish, Cliff, and a host of other characters throughout the years.
Known those guys since long before I was a part of the industry.

I used to run around with his sister. Mom and dad great people. Erstmeyer (sp). Freedom. Towing double jet boats with Chevy van. Still cross paths occasionally.

I think if Tommy Papp would have been around for this pic, it would have been a snapshot of my entire childhood. Great time to grow up.

Okay, I'll take a shot at one more. Is the guy in the front row, second from the right -- Scotty? He used to rig boats at Eliminator years ago. If that's him he rigged three of my Eliminators in the 1980s.

Throw in Dick Schuster, Ray Weiman, Roger Weiman, Howard Brown, Harlan Orrin and Gil Gaska and it would be my childhood. Not to mention my neighborhood too.
Does Joe Whitted fall into this group anywhere?

Joes Tooling sun valley

i know the Joes Tooling name but never knew any of them. All the guys I named actually lived in my neighborhood or had a shop in my neighborhood. In fact Schuster was the only one that at one time or another didn't live in the neighborhood. All the others did.

Marine Associates, Rogers Custom Boats, Weiman Jet Boats, Tahiti, Hawaiian, Wriedt, Dragon Craft, Howard Brown (2 different shops), Bob Massey (Bellfower Marine), Brad Water Skis, Paul's Boat Upholstery, Interiors by Jack, Glen L Marine (boat plans) were either close enough to walk to or I could ride my bike and hang out and be a 10 year old pain in the ass at whatever shop I was standing in, dreaming. And that's not taking into account of all the hot rod shops, Genes Chrome, 2 slot car tracks, legendary Larry Watson custom painting had at least 2 shops in Bellflower. 2 families just down the street ran AA fuel dragsters, the brothers directly across the street ran a Falcon straight axle gasser. Ronnie and Marge Eckoff who grew up with my mom, as Roger Weiman did, were speed water skiers. Across the street from them were the Wilkeys who ran a Aqua Craft pulling ski racers including their younger son who made a few attempts at the world water ski 1/4 mile record. I don't think he ever got it but if I remember right he ran a 117 once.

And lets not forget Chuck Sterns! Bellflower guy and had a shop there too.

It was a pretty amazing time to be a kid.

Wow you grew up in the middle of it. Always interesting to hear the connections and history of the sport.
