I'm not going to edit the Post below, because it's important for the sake of history.. But I will add to it and say that Tim flat out lied and did not agree any of the terms.


Well I'm sorry to ruin everyones good times..

The Customer and Tim from OCM have reached a resolution. Tim has offered to drive to the bank right now and deposit a check for the full amount, in which case the bank will put a hold on the funds. Or option # 2 Tim will wire the money via a federal wire before 12:00 noon tomorrow, in which case the funds will be available immediately.

The customer has opted for Option # 2 accepting the Wire Transfer by 12:00 noon tomorrow.

Both the Seller and OCM are content with the terms. Upon receipt of the money the Customer will post on RDP that he was paid, and made whole.

Once this transaction has been completed, these threads will be deleted.

In full disclosure, I will be laying out and explaining the previous 2 situations regarding OCM and the internet both of which he took a bath on.. Both of which were COMPLETE AND TOTAL BULLSHIT. First being with Frisini, and the second being the Collins Lawsuit, and I will be explaining once and for all how neither of those incidents had anything to do with OCM or funding.

From there on forward I will bring to the table several people that have purchased and sold boats through OCM without incident, and letters of endorsement that they would happily do it again. The first story being my own. I have sent Tim 4 boats and he paid with a paper check from OCM that did not bounce, and there was no problem with any of the transactions. We will get into that later this week though.

Because that's what RD does. He wants to be involved. He wants to be the liaison between local business and boaters/RDP members, and for the part, he does a great job. I had a problem years ago with a certain vendor, who is now a forum sponsor...guy fucked me pretty good. I asked a simple question on PB, not mentioning names or even pointing at a problem with a vendor, and this asshole chimed in an escalated things. Next I know, King Creole, RD, and some dipshit claiming to be this assholes attorney are calling me. I had PMs from other members with similar experiences that I conveyed to KC and RD, and sure enough, now he is a sponsor. Right and wrong doesn't matter. This is a business and business follows money.

If I was a business, I'd like to think that I'd take the truth over money because morals, but morals don't put food on the table...., but If I'd had drinks and lunch with the money, and I'd only met the truth on the interweb, I can't say which side I'd join.

I wish I could say I remember that, but I don't.. and I'm not even sure what forum sponsor you are talking about. As said earlier, years back I used to get way more involved with bullshit like this, then I ever will do now. I'm kinda passed that whole deal, and just do whatever it takes to get it resolved and broom the situation and move on with life.

In full disclosure of some facts here. OCM / Tim is not an advertiser here, nor has he been in years. That being said I did shoot him a text this morning that said he really needs to fix his PR out on the internet, and you are correct sir.. If I end up handling that for him I will absolutely charge the shit out of him for it because I believe it to be a tall order. To keep with transparency, yes I already have a plan that is ethical, and honest, and transparent to fix that PR problem, and could do it in 8 weeks or less.

It all makes perfect sense now... to me at least!

Hey if Tim would've paid the guy like he said he would (guaranteed he would, provided evidence he did etc..).. and then provided me with letters of endorsement from past sellers and buyers, then absolutely I could've solved his PR problem.. Just put up 2-3 a week and eventually it would've gone away in less then 8 weeks.

As an aside, I like when I visit computer review websites and a customer has a complaint on their message boards and the manufacturer jumps right in and offers their apologies and a number of ways to contact them to remedy the situation ~ I don't recall seeing that here from any boat/marine businesses but like I mentioned I am fairly new here. I look at the entire boat/marine industry like I would a used car dealer. With suspicion ~ anytime you can have large amounts of money that are for the most part disposable it seems to bring out the crooks. Caveat Emptor.

You have to go with the %'s.. Over 15 years it has been 90+% that the random poster on the internet posted something that wasn't 100% accurate, etc.. Again referring back to all sorts of stories from the burned down Aftershock, to the famous MSD Box that the train guy bought, and on and on and on..

Sucks that 10% has popped up more recently. Or more then likely those #'s will probably be changing into the future now that the economy is starting to come back, and there is more money floating around the marine industry which lures in the crooks.
