So…my engine will be ready for paint soon and I am told to pick out a color and the builder recommends House of Kolor paint. Says they have some really cool crazy colors. I’m going some sort of blue since my boat has blues in it. Does anyone know somewhere in So Cal I can go look at color chips? I imagine maybe a paint shop possibly. I’m in Riverside

If closer to Corona Finish Master off of Sampson.
Closer to Perris, these giys will probably have the chips.

Now. If you are willing to have your mind blown, and willing to travel here.

They will have the chips, and you won’t be disappointed walking around a little.

Derailing the thread....... do you know any air brushers? I need to see what it would cost to have a few things touched up on my sandrail.

Not so much for touch up work?
More art-ish.
You could drop a buck fifty to three and buy one😉

Then spend months learning how to mix paint and make it look right 😁

Coast Airbrush is where I used to get stuff. As "art supplies" you could get all the cool stuff. Dave and Raina were the owners, but it's been years since I've made my way over there :(

I’d look into having the block smoothed out and deburred if you’re springing for quality paint and colors like HOC products.
It’s my Ilmor 625 that was Red. It’s at Exotic Engines in Reno get machined and a full rebuild. They stripped the red paint before machining so it will be good to go for new paint. They use HOK paint

You’re definitely in good hands. I meant more like sanding out the casting imperfections and smoothing out the edges.

This might explain it better…

Just a nice little extra touch but a little more time. Aluminum blocks look wicked when it’s done and all the machining is smoothed out.

It’s just me enjoying my time spending another persons time and money is all lol

Yep, a little time with the die grinder and some carbide cutters and cartrige rolls to all the outside corners, sharp edges, casting parting lines and unnecessary casting #'s, letters etc. Makes them look so much nicer and no scratches or cuts on hands/arms when having to work around them. I like to hit all casting flash internally as well as the whole intake valley to aid in drainback etc. Sometimes I get a little crried away with it tho...
But they sure do look good when complete.

My red tunnel, if you remember, had the castings all cleaned up. A detail so small just looks so nice and clean.

Yes I do remember bud. One badass tunnel for certain. Yes it is subtle but very noticable to those that appreciate the details. I just had DNE finish a 468 for Nick. Dave was quite impressed with my handy work on that block. 8 hrs on the die grinder but soo worth it in the end.
