So what do you do for fun!? I mean you're so fkn pleasant on here, I'd be interested to know what zen activity you have that makes you pleasant and relaxed.

After the last 4 years of shit I've had piled on my plate....honestly?....nothing. Trolling the forums brings me the occasional smile, but aside from that...I just try and work and be the best at what I do and stay busy to get through till bed time and hope tomorrow is better. Someday it might be....and I'm holding out for that one.

I look at that garage and I get tired just thinking of launching those boats.... definitely not a single handed affair... There will be those that say, you have people for that. That just means I have another person in my life I have to manage when I want less overhead and headache and more peaceful water time with the wife and I.......

At work give me all the accountability and headache you want.... but outside of work, I want a boat no bigger than 23' feet, I can easily manage by myself... a lauch ramp 500' away from my house, not a 30 min drive with a mountain of a boat to a busy launch ramp...

That whole program seems like a second job to me...massive truck, massive boats and associated maintenance that goes with them...even with people to manage it, I have to manage them and that's a real time suck...

I do envy you guys that keep your boats in garages…….. Mine is in the elements 24/7. It’s depressing.

It’s really not hard launching the big boats my dad has a 42 mti cc and it only takes him and I and we are faster than the majority of the ppl on the launch ramp. It’s no different then doing a 23’ boat.

Gotta say, I handle our new to us 38 by myself when the wife and I go out. Agreed a total PITA since I do it all but, I’m almost 65 and the next few years is probably the last I’ll be able to do it. As such, it’s worth it. I’ll be in a small jet or pontoon soon enough..

Kinda depends on the situation but I can tell you a 42 MTI with quads and a bow thruster is easy in just about any conditions… lol.

Some big staggered setup with the drives close to the centerline would be difficult.


My 335 is pretty easy around the docks and trailers etc..

Backing up a big trailer is easier. Agreed on putting it on in decent conditions. The wipe down is a SOB on big boats. Lucky’s Nordic 35’ felt twice the size of our boat to wipe down. Maybe it was just the deck. A lot of product and time.

We do ours the first and second day and let Chris grab it at the end of the weekend. So worth it. Wiping down the boat isn’t the issue it’s the damn outboards. Those take longer then the boat to clean.

Yes, pretty close anyway. The transom end (drives, cleavers, hydro steering and tab rams, exhaust, etc, plus removing the cleavers) seems to take up 1/2 of that. The other 1/2 split between the hull and interior.

The boat is in the shop now and is getting ceramic coated while there. I suspect that will save some time down the road.
