Shouldn't you be more concerned about going out and playing the field and not settling down? I know after I got divorced, I made it clear to everyone I hooked up with that I had no intentions of settling down anytime soon. So if you want to hang out and have a good time lets do this otherwise beat it! You just got divorced, go out and enjoy being single and have some fun. Find yourself again. Just my 2 cents.

Best advice in this thread!! I spent many years after my divorce enjoying bring single. Almost made the mistake off rise again (thank god that fell through before I made a big mistake). At this stage iny life marriage and more kids is definitely not out of the question but definitely not a priority.

Beyond dating, when things get serious...everything comes down to communication and pulling together towards the same goals, which is driven by love, respect, and a desire to please each other...it is a bond forged by facing hard times together. If you find someone that you "fit" like that with, you've been blessed.

At some point she is gonna start hearing her biological clock and want kids. While he may have already gone down that road. Both extremes had their own individual differences but both had a common theme. Both wanted me to stop racing. I say bullshit. If you love someone you also accept all the things that go with it. Gotta remember gramma's advice the only person in a relationship you can change is yourself. People today are spoiled little bitches and have no idea how to compromise or communicate. Relationships are as disposable as a fast food wrapper. Walk away early on of something screams car dealership sized red flag. It's much easier and less drama.

Todd ,I wouldn't use the phrase "dating " , women can easily confuse that with relationship. Like many have said, age is only a number. I prefer using the phrase, hanging out if someone asks. I wouldn't even bring up a " what are we ?" Question with her. If you want to hang out with her, call her and hang out. If you don't .be very honest and straight with her, if your not looking for anything serious, let her know. It saves from complicated drama later. It also gives you the opportunity to meet other women ( don't confuse that with screwing other women) .

I wouldn't jump into dating anyone if I were you. I will be single until I know she IS the one, until that happens , I'm not going to waste my time nor anyone else's if I don't feel it. You come first right now....

Your scenario will play out in many relationships, it's just more pronounce with a larger age descrepancy. The real problem comes much later, something I've witnessed 3 times with my MIL. She has buried three men she has been married to, each around 15 years older than her. I know of other women in the same position and I'm sure most everyone does too. It breaks ones heart to watch it go down. IMO age difference is fine and dandy yet accepting the hardest part in the latter stages of life is a bitter pill to swallow.
