If we do meet downtown, the Renaissance is prob one of the nicest hotels in town with a really nice outdoor patio right on the river.

I'm registered for Virginia City HAN (Aug 2-4). I'll be taking my '34 Ford 3 window coupe up if I can get the a/c fixed in time otherwise I'll take the Vette.

Will probably drive up to Reno on Friday or Saturday too and just go home in the evening. Post up photos of what you're driving so we can identity each other!

We will either be staying in our condo in tahoe for the most part and maybe get a room for a few nights so we don't have to drive back and forth at one of the trop/el dorado places since I get them for free Will let you know.

Here is a short list I compiled with places we could meet up.

*Brasserie St James. https://www.brasseriesaintjames.com/ Cool mid town brewery in a bitchen old building with tons of outdoor seating.

*Wild River Grill. https://www.wildrivergrille.com/ Basically down town where all the action is, so parking may be tough. Cool outdoor patio on the river with decent food and drink.

*The Shore at the Renaissance. https://shoreroom.com/ Cool patio right on river, awesome service and food. Not sure how parking will be during HAN, but they usually have a very open nice lot. They also have happy hour every day from 3 to 6.

*Von Bismarck. https://vbreno.com/ Cool new German place with awesome German beer on tap in huge mugs! Food is not cheap, but cool out door seating and off the main drag.

*Zepplin. https://www.zeppelinreno.com/ Unfortunately no outdoor seating as of yet, but great food and drinks. South of town so a little drive, but that means plenty of parking.

* Napa Sonoma South. http://www.napa-sonoma.com/south.html Nice place with plenty of parking and out door seating. Decent food and drink.

*El Adobe. http://eladobecafe.com/ Great mexican food and AWESOME margartias. Right off of Virginia and convenient from most parts of town.

*The Depot http://thedepotreno.com/ Nice place located in the old Reno train station. Neat place, good food and drink.


If everyone just wants to meet up for drinks, there are tons of cool bars and breweries. Reno was rated top 10 places to live in the US if you are in to beer!



There are others if anyone wants suggestions.

I am driving down to Sacramento for the 8th, it's my grandmother's 90th bday( it will most likely be her last) it would be nice to go up for the day, I have a few friends along the way I can visit as well

They call it HOT August Nights for a reason! It's going to be focking hot! High 90's, maybe 100. It will cool down some at night but in the middle of town with concrete everywhere and tons of hot cars cruising around will generate a lot of heat.

I was there last year in my buddy's black on black '68 Camaro with no a/c and it's pretty brutal.

It's a bit over 200 miles. Nice drive once you hit the Sierra's. Take 80 for a quicker drive or 50 for a more scenic route. Actually, highway 88 is even better.

There is a lot of stuff going on and it lasts all week long. It is spread out all over town but GSR is the main location. They sent me this program and it is 93 pages thick! It is the second one they sent. The first one came a while ago and was only 53 pages.

I usually hit the GSR on Saturday and walk around looking at cars. They have an official cruise Saturday night but it is a big loop of down town and is basically a hot rod traffic jam you just cook. I prefer to cruise Virginia St and hit the casino parking lots. Each lot is like a small car show in itself.

Is anyone one else here bringing a car?

I lived in Carson City and Lake Tahoe and used to go to Hot August Nights and really enjoyed all the cars.
It seems to me that folks now days just want to see bad ass street rods which is good with me.
I don't care to drive all that distance with my numbers matching 1967 Pontiac GTO.
Don't get me wrong but I don't need a trophy. I enjoy my GTO.
It will never be for sale until I die.
I hope everyone has a great time, it is a cool event.

Sorry we missed meeting you guys last night. We stopped and ate dinner before heading over to Atlantis to meet a coworker and his family. After that we decided to head back to the hotel since we were wiped out after being up since 4am and enduring the 8 hour drive up here with all the freeway road construction on the 395.

We will be at GSR today.
