Vidal is so funny. Someone always parks a vehicle in front of the gas prices sign so no one can see it.

Then you pull in, find out, and start trying to calculate whether you can make it to Parker.

It almost looks like it says $8.55 for regular self-serve?

That sign has been hit so many times it doesn’t even work half the time anyway.

If someone has to fill up in Vidal or Fenner to begin with, they’ve severely fucked up their route planning.

Why people patronize Chevron is beyond me.
Here is a Chevron and a Maverick that are across the street from each other. Screw Chevron. $4.29 versus $3.64

.... Really I should have stopped an hour ago at the Pilot...

This is what is available now as truck drivers...didn't realize truck stops fill up the lot at night when complaining about Pilot. Doesn't see why fuel is so ridiculously exspensive...well, manufacturers install something to help with that. It comes standard, not even an expensive option, though highly valuable. A gas gauge!

We ended up in Fenner for firewood and gas in a Mojave trail trip, Gas was about the same and a bundle of firewood was $18.99.

Not always-

I drove my CJ7 from Big Bear to Bullhead. Holds about 12 gallons. Averages about 14 mpg.
Fueled up in Barstow. 175 miles to BHC. Mileage wise, I was good for about 168 miles. So I put about 3 gallons in at Fenner. So cheap at twice the price. Sure beats walking.

I used to stop in at least twice a month. Cup of coffee and drain the bilge. Burned all Arizona fuel from BHC to Irvine. And back.

Najah has a beautiful place right on the river in BHC, across from Big Bend St. Park. The one with all the rock work. I doubt the $2.12 cups of coffee in the wee hours of the morning contributed much.

Yes this goes without saying. But that’s not filling up, either. 🙃

Smaller motorcycles are another example that often can’t make the mileage between Barstow / needles or the Summit / Parker

That’s so funny. We just drove by there Friday night. I couldn’t believe the prices!

Ok story time.

The 15 was closed one night (for snow I’d assume) and people were going the back way down the 95, to the tracks, and across Goff’s road to the 40.

They also drove right past the Chevron at CalNevAri…

Annnnnnd the Oasis (Fenner) ran out of gas. There were stranded cars and dead Teslas EVERYwhere…..

Im sure the AAA contractors made a killing that night.

I tend to stick with name brand fuel simply because they are in the refinery business and not the convenience store business and have resources to develop their additive packages (the fuel we get is all the same, but the additives added are different depending on what station it's headed to).

I'd rather spend a few extra bucks than risk getting substandard fuel that could cost me money or a failure in the long run.

Kinda like OEM parts vs no-name china aftermarket stuff....the OE stuff might not be better, but there's a good chance it is.

My 01gixxer750 would get 51mpg cruising fwy speeds 5-7 over speed limit 😱🤣. But in canyons or hard on off the gas it would drop to about 35mpg.

If I knew I had to cover 200 miles I knew what i had to do. And some rides I did there was 160 between fuel

So I’ve got a new 1250RT, that’s supposed to be great on gas.. but I’ll be damned if I can’t keep it under 100 😬😬

That distance on any gixxer makes my knees hurt just thinking about.

At times I want another street bike but then see all the drivers today makes me say not so sure. 51 now had street bikes from 18-36 no street crashes did alot
Of Ortega and palomar on my 89 gixxer at fast pace had close calls though.

My 01 I had definitely was a dream handling bike but began losing interest about 08 sold it in 09 after only putting 70 miles on it in one year. It’s tempting at times though but dirt has been keeping me happy.

… didn’t crash my Suzuki 650 dual sport… But I did a yoga back arching exercise on it and arched too far and
Essentially broke my neck… Thus my life as a crazy mountain man was over… I haver ridden the motorcycle a couple of times after my cervical spine surgery but it just wasn’t the same… I could put fresh gas in it and a new battery and some air in the Tires and be off and rolling… With the maniac Drivers I saw out of the road Friday night that is an absolute no thanks… Holy crap😳

I’ve heard people actually say that’s the only reason they buy chevron.
By that logic, it’s cheaper to add the bottle at every tank to cheap no-name gas.

Is that green Toyota going to be one one of those trucks blocking the gas price sign like mentioned above in post number 6 by @DarkHorseRacing?

If so, you should just have it towed just off principal alone.🫣👀😁

Been there for months. Private property. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I told the station owner to lein sale that bitch a long time ago. Lol.

Yup. Funny thing when I lived in Fullerton there was a 7/11 and a chevron across the street. Of course 30 cent difference.

But I had seen the same fuel truck literally pull out of the chevron and go across the street to 7/11 to fill their tanks too. 🤷‍♂️

I could care less about “Techron”. I have been driving for 46 years and in all that time only had 1 problem with gas. Years ago put gas in my work van at the Zips gas station in Havasu and it ran like shit. Never went back there.

See, that probably wouldn't have happened if you went to Chevron. :D
