I've never had a generator so have a question. The generator calls for 10W30 oil. Would it be safe to run 5W30 Synthetic oil in it???
Simple to just follow the manufacturers suggestion. [emoji848] mine runs great.
Run what the manufacture suggest. Running synthetic won't help since these small units don't have oil filters to clean the oil.
I have 2 2000i. I just follow the instructions. If you decide to go with what you got report back.
My Onan 4,000 has the same oil with the exception over 100 degrees. Over 100 calls for 30wt straight oil. I called and talked to customer service and they said yes that is correct.
New genny I'd break in with dino oil :thumbsup
Then run what you want...
Never too early to start scouting pics for tomorrows good morning thread. :cool
Just run regular old 10W-30. They are simple and bullet proof
I usually just run 10/40 in mine and change it often.Might be overkill but i change it about every 20-30 hours my 3000 doesnt take much.A normal weekend on mine at desert is about 8-10 hrs run time.
IMO no need for synthetic.
I run a diesel oil, Delo or Rotello. I was told by a generator mechanic that these work best for these type engines.
Biggest thing is to make sure the oil is changed accordingly to usage. Run what the manual says.
Why not just run what the owners manual says, probably only holds 1 or 2 quarts.
. These hold less than 1 quart...Why not just run what the owners manual says, probably only holds 1 or 2 quarts.
