Anyone on here do alarm systems as well cameras? Know i want 4 cameras maybe 5 depending, and need installed here in my home in Ft. Mohave.

Had a guy smash into the gates and wall out front while we were gone so now mama says cameras are a must.

I haven’t called them, I’ve seen their little Scion around town tho. Sadly just hard to feel comfortable with most people in this methed out Valley to trust to come into my home. Why i was kinda hoping to find someone on here or a known trustworthy shop from Havasu. But I’ll try them this coming week.

So you want to "import" your meth head installer, from Havasu or outside the area .

What a snob . HA HA HA

If you find someone to do your "wireless" system (110V not battery), I'm ready to go with a 4 camera system, down here in Havasu ............

Peter do it yourself. I just installed a Reolink system $500 on Amazon. It’s very simple to do.

Well I’m hoping the LHC meth head is too cracked out to drive all the way out to my house after he sees i really have nothing worth stealing... but yea it’s a double edged sword. Tried to get two different people out locally and they are all flakes.

I have Reolink as well. Love them. Had someone professionally install them for me. No visible wires.

Easy to setup and I get an alert on my phone and an email every time someone is at the door.

I’m buying a Reolink system today. Anything wrong with running 6-7 channels on a 8 channel 2tb system?

I have four cameras on my Reolink 2TB system. I wish I had more memory.

Check out WyzeCam. It may not be for the high-demand users, but for $20 a camera, I have been extremely impressed. I have five and use them in my main rooms and through the window to capture outside of my house. Night vision, two way microphone/speaker, free cloud storage and SD for long-term, motion and sound alerts... I use Ring at the front door and love it as well.

We have those for inside, and they are amazing for 20.00!!

Ah! Going with the 3tb 16 port system now. 10-11 cams. Looks like the dome RLC-420 is the best way to go. Any reason to go with the 5 MP dome?

Not an internet guru here but found this statement interesting on the WyzeCam cameras and there seems to be a lot of concern out there as well.

Not sure about how secure WyzeCam is. They say they utilize a 3rd party called ThroughTek (offices in china and japan - none in US) to handle the transfer of videos. Wyze Cam claims the content is sent securely to aws. Examining the network traffic from camera shows that content is routed thru many providers including AWS, Linode (US) Vultr/Choopa (europe) and Aliyum/Alibaba (china). They seem to also utilize NTP server in Russia. To get more details.. search on web for "WyzeCam sending data to servers other than AWS" and you will find a Reddit article. How does Wyze ensure that ThroughTek is not eavesdropping?

For anyone to trust Wyze Cam, they need to have clear control over end to end encryption of data to ensure no 3rd party has any way of accessing their videos. Why can't the data be sent directly from a cam to AWS (s3 bucket)? Why can someone not have access to AWS logs (s3 logs) to review which other IP address has accessed (or attempted to access) their content? Just claiming that this is a secure solution, doesn't work for some.

Other than this security concern, the end user experience looks to be great for the camera in other respects. Of course, the price is super good.

Ours are integrated into our whole house Crestron system.

Be careful where you put them.

The only crime we have had at the house is.......stolen cameras.

The police say the kids like to steal them and use them for web stuff. We have a great video where the kid goes up, dismounts the camera, it shows his shoes and then blank...... :)

Also depending upon budget and lighting, consider FLIR cameras in darker strategic spots as opposed to simply night vision.

I ordered the 16 port - 3tb Reolink system 1-5mp for outside front door & 8-420’s for the rest of the permitter. Mounting them on 12 ft + ceilings to view patio/sliding glass doors/pool, garage, above gun safe/entry/exit/window, main hallway in house & sides of home.

Its a good start and have room to expand.
