It's official now - I just made it to the milestone of 60 years, now I am officially old. For the most part I'm doing well other than needing a CPAP machine to remind me to breathe at night, my sciatica is acting up and I get the random stabbing pains in my left thigh, and my right knee is now paying me back for abusing it in my younger years. In my mind I'm still in my late 20's, early 30's, but my body says different. I thank the Lord everyday for giving me another day to be with my family and friends, including the cast of inmates that frequent here on RDP, most of you I haven't met, but would love to hang out and have a beer or two with sometime. I haven't been to the river since April, but I plan to get a few trips in after Labor Day into early November.

Hopefully I have many more birthdays coming up.

Happy Birthday!

Now I understand why so many of our senior population are grumpy. They are in constant pain. I'm not far behind you but these random parts wearing out sucks.

Sleeping injuries are real.

I can tell you that my ankle deal has changed my life considerably.. I try not to be grumpy, but the constant pain wears on a person.

… Pretty crazy for me to watch so many of the people of RDP turn 60… I signed on to RDP when I was in my early 60s I am now 77 and oh yeah there’s that pain deal😳… I wonder how many people my age are on RDP… I noticed some years ago that 80 seemed to be the cut off point when people stopped posting???…

I felt like you 7 years ago. Trust me when I tell you, “it gets better”. BTW Happy Birthday

There is a U-shaped curve, with the low point in happiness being at roughly age 40 around the world, with some modest differences across countries. It seems that our veneration of (or for some of us, nostalgia, for) youth as the happiest times of our lives is overblown, the middle age years are, well, as expected, and then things get better as we age, as long as we are reasonably healthy (age-adjusted) and in a stable partnership.

Happy Birthday
The 60’s are a walk in the park, the 70’s are a walk to the refrigerator.
Just keep moving, the joints freeze up very quickly, if you don’t,

Sciatica, arthritis and worn out parts are par for the course I think. I'm 14 years your junior, and have those things. It dropped 20 degrees in the past few days here...so it's noticeable 🤣

Pain does have a bright side. It lets us know we're still alive. It may not be the best reminder, but it sure as hell beats the alternative;)

I hope I’m still here in the years going forward. Learning from others. This place has so much to give. And gives it. 👍

Happy Birthday. I’ll be 60 in 4 months.

I might only be 59……. But I feel like I am 80. I am constantly reminded of all the bones I broke in my youth. I kinda wish I had been slightly more conservative back then. Lol

My biggest gripe and complaint is my oversized prostate. If I so much as glance at a toilet, I instantly have the urge to pea. Of course, I’ll have to use my glasses to find the bowl.

From the sound of all of your ailments, it appears you are suffering from T.M.B. Too…Many…Birthdays 🤣 That’s what my doctor has been telling me for years.

Suggestion - Just don’t do anything stupid. Because, you may mess yourself up enough doing something stupid, to not allow you to be able to do anything stupid next time. Sounds complicated? But, it works for me.

Sometimes stupid just happens, especially when you’re laying there in pain and you say to yourself - that was really stupid.
