You sure had some nice weather in the Straits as the water is not like that very often there. A fun day trip would be to head north to Hessel and Cedarville through the Les Chenaux islands. Some beautiful homes and wooden boats there.

By the way, I looked at a few pics from two years ago and that Whaler was in the same spot.
Also took a pic of this guy by the docks

We made a trip to Hessel today in the pontoon to check on Charles boat that was being rigged in their marina.

Susanna was quite a sight when we pulled in.

I’ve had the chance the last couple of nights to enjoy the sunsets at the properties of a known Hollywood producer and his actress wife. One is a converted lake front pole barn / steel building - the other is a converted church into their home...

… SirJimBob .and friends….;I found out quite a while ago that a piece of Scotch magic mending tape over both Mic pick ups on your phone /camera …/kills most of the wind noise. …in that. last video you would’ve still been able to hear him talk..

Army trick I was taught early 70's in Frankfurt Germany.
Use the same Scotch Magic tape on your strassenbahn (Street car) ticket to cover where the time/date code machine stamps the ticket.
It's invisible, the stamping is clearly legible, and after your ride, later you simply wipe off that stamp and re-stamp and re-use until it becomes obviously worn. 😁

Thanks for taking the time to document your amazing journey. The title of your thread says it all. So perfect for this summer of 2021. You mentioned the water felt different back there. I’ve heard it called “old water”. Mature lakes and waterways that have been used, and not abused, for many years. Your boat fits in very well. Look forward to your videos being compiled by RD’s guy for viewing. Thanks again for taking the time to document your trip for all of us.

Every time I get on new water it feels trippy!

I can’t get used to the Great Lakes.

My boat isn’t made to run in the Great Lakes or ocean and it’s easy to see why when you get caught up in the white caps and short swells. I can’t help but feel every wave is coming over the bow and filling the boat in one scoop😳

The smaller lakes are their own head trip with new shore lines to follow and islands that make the view look different from behind them etc. easy to get lost and of course I don’t have a compass or GPS onboard. Other than my phone.

Haha - we’ve talked about that!

Clam shell on the hatch would reveal that below were the three 1 barrel Stromberg downdraft carbs feeding the 131 HP KBL Hercules flat head, at least originally.
The updraft arrangement didn't require the clam shell. Sure looks like a 20' to me and I love the blonde hatch.
Finally a woody out of it's boat garage 😁

Wondering how the boat is holding up to all the road travel? Stone chips, rainy road grime on interior, etc. Have you had to wash the cover?
Thanks for taking us all on this journey with you.

One of the things I’ve noticed is that when it rains on the east coast it doesn’t generate the oily grime we get. I think bc it rains so much the streets are cleaner. We get 1 year of grime and oil build up for every rain.

That said Ive washed the truck and trailer 3 times but can’t find somebody who understands what a wash is. Don’t dry the top of truck / don’t really wash the wheels / no interior windows cleaned etc.

The boat is holding up well with the biggest issue being in a slip when it’s windy and rainy - I have picked up fender rash that will need to be fixed when I’m home. And the rain has kept the tow cover pretty clean!

It is hard to leave it over night in a slip in the rain or to see the amount of bugs that are on it in the morning😳

After this trip is over you might just be ready for a closed bow boat?

The water front homes and perfect little town are perfect company with an epic marina boathouse club. Lots of private clubs here. Surely the Titans of industry all summer here...

Great stuff. Thanks for continuing to update this thread with your adventures.

I imagine that your boat gets a lot of attention where you are. Even of they are used to seeing performance offshore boats, a boat like yours has to be pretty rare in the places you are.

Yes even in the land of the big boats they notice our little 26ft as something totally different!

Am I smelling Old Money? Looks lovely.... and guess what I got a fresh computer and I can actually watch your vids now. Though these two are playing with some weird jumpiness for some reason. I'll be going back and watching your old vids later now.

Made it to the Avalon / Tahoe dealer meeting again this year.

The Merc guys are here with the new 600, to answer the question before it’s asked - none have been put on any of the pontoons here yet. However this new color Tahoe with the twin 450s is awful nice!!

But the scale of the 600 is ridiculous!

Random thought...

I can’t believe how much nicer the water is at all the places I’ve recently been relative to our water at home in Havasu. My boat comes out of the lake, is quickly wiped down whether it was in the water for a few hours that afternoon or for four or five days at the dock.

He was sitting at the table next to me last night. He won dealer of the year again - his second year in a row!

You helped him get there!

Sorry I didn’t see your note before I left last night.
