O Lu is usually a good program too, congrats. Makes me think Mater Dei is damn near unbeatable after they spanked you.

Mater dei is solid this year for sure but then again when aren’t they?

Next year should be a really good year for centennial

tonight is centennial vs. cathedral catholic.

Going to be a good one based on the two opening drives of both scoring.

Great game. Refs are a “little” biased with their calls thus far. But the boys are responding well.

Hard to describe the moment this school has. But pyrotechnics are part of their program.

It is teacher appreciation night tonight here at Royal and the Royal band just did a tribute to Christa McAuliffe, the teacher who died in the Challenger disaster. Really nice tribute.

Oh wow! You're playing CC Dons down here in the Carmel Valley/Torrey Pines area. I thought there was a campus up by the Riverside/ Orange county area. Kind of like Mater Dei. We have one down here and you have one up there. Isn't the CC campus amazing? The weight room looks like a 2 story 24 hour fitness and the pool could host the Olympic trials. And the massive circular entrance all done in pavers. Beautiful School.

Ended up losing. it was a battle all the way to the end. Some of the worst officiating I have ever seen. And it wasn’t shitty both ways, seems like it was only beneficial to the home team. At one point we were counting upwards of 55 seconds between plays. Ref stopping the game because they didn’t have enough players on the field, and countless “holding” calls when the boys weren’t even in the same vicinity.

Would’ve loved to see a straight up game because it was a good one.

after a loss to Bosco in the semi finals That was it.

Last night was the last of the events for the season....The varsity banquet.

my son not only got his varsity letter as a sophomore. He received a student athlete patch. He was also recognized as one of the top gpa in the league. Very proud Dad moment. He did get the invite for a 7 on 7 league and goes to his second try out Sunday, so maybe football isn’t quite over.

That's awesome, my nephew graduated with special honors due to his GPA while lettering 3 years in varsity. When he graduated high school he had 1.5 years of college done while starting for the football team, he was the first football player to achieve that and he was recognized by the Ronald Reagan library for that achievement. He has a special seal on his diploma from the Ronald Reagan library.

It was really cool to see. They take the top 44 GPA across the league (6 schools) there were over 20 kids recognized last night just out of centennial. These kids are not only phenomenal players but also great students. I was shocked to see so many of these top recruits were also maintaining top GPA.

It is, it's different than when I was in school that's for sure, the coach no longer has to go tell the teachers to pass the players so they can play.
