I really like Sutphens and several years ago seriously wanted to buy the Great Adventure boat but bought a full cabin local boat instead. In hind sight, a mistake and should have bought the Sutphen.

The owner had 1200 Sterlings built but never installed. Bad divorce derailed the build shortly after coming out of paint shop. Rub rail is still zip tied to the trailer.

Oh shit! Congrats!! A buddy sent me photos of that a few weeks ago. Looked crazy clean. That’s so bad ass you picked it up! You gonna keep it down in Florida or drag it up to Idaho?

Sutphen’s are legit runners! Bad ass boats. That 39 is the big daddy. Don’t think they made very many.

Speed of our gun? We’re running 598CI blown 1,000’s (boyd power) and dry 6’s. I’ve never opened it up but it was said to run 108 before the power was gone through and new dry 6’s were put on a few years ago. I’m guessing we’ll run over 110. I bet that Sutphen will run same numbers with similar set up.

You see the 39 Nas-T at the bottom of that magazine article? Fucker runs Lamborghini v-12’s in it. We ran next to him going to key west like 15 years ago. The lambo motors Scream!!! Owner has to be in his 60’s back then. Funny guy.

I know! I talked to Steve quite a bit about it. It was a cool boat with a lot of pedigree. I thought about trying to track it down but found my Formula so I'll be playing with it instead. I haven't seen anything of it since I was looking at it about 10 years ago. I wonder where it is now?

That would probably be the smart thing to do.
I’m getting info together on big inch na builds with 20* heads and tunnel rams. Finding off the shelf pistons that don’t run the cr up too high is a challenge with these heads (100cc chambers) but I think I’ve found a combination that will work.
The boat is going to Ed Moore in Ocala to repaint the deck and re clear the hull sides this month. I’m pretty sure all the wiring is in and good to go. Will have some time next week to get over to the shop and look things over better.
Meanwhile glad to have it inside and out of the the sun.
