I'll find one for you Walt. It's only Feb., so new listings are coming up daily... I've got an eye out & will post up or pm you when I see something.[emoji1303]

Eliminator regatta is in May.........that's my objective. There is one in Michigan minus power for $7000 that I like but $3500 to get a $7000 boat here doesn't add up with my math. Doug Parks is trying to get me a back haul deal so it would be much much less but he doesn't have any trips planned to that area.

I was in the same boat last year. Couldn't find the boat I wanted after looking for 6 month. No way I was buying new.

I expanded the search radius and found what I was looking for in Saskatchewan. The seller met me on the border. I took a few days off and bonzai'd to northern montana and picked it up.

A bit of effort but looking back, the 3k saved on transport costs was money saved for repowering the boat. Kevin at KMG took care of this and many other items quickly, at a reasonable price, and on a top notch level.

Looking back, the drive was worth it. Got the boat I wanted and at a price point that would be very hard to find

Talk to me goose. You live back that way now?

Well if you can get that boat to Oklahoma , I can tow it to havasu. Probably the weekend of March 18th, which is s Friday and be there in sat,or I can do it the following week Be a lot cheaper , I would tow it with my 1/2 ton new Chevy.

Jus something that I was thinking when I read this. If this boat is worth that much to ya.

Isn't there a bad ass used 21' Daytona with a OB Merc sitting on display in the Eliminator showroom? I don't remember the asking price, it has new interior and looks super clean.

Yes there is. I saw it last week when I was down there. I'm not sure of the asking price either, but it does look very clean!

Shueman had a sale sign on it with a price last month when I was there. I don't remember what the price was though

That sale sign was a "new boat build" quote ... the boat belongs to Pete Paluzzi, all original gelcoat from the early 90's.
One of these days he'll finish his motor rebuild and actually run it again ... :rolleyes Sez it runs 100+

I don't know Walt, but buying an older boat, minus power + shipping costs + new power & rigging, setup/testing etc... seems like an expensive purchase? And without seeing the boat in person first? There will be other 21s. The 21 isn't easiest boat to find, but something will pop up here soon. I've got all the local LA, OC & Mohave boat ads covered for you. There's still a lot of time between now & May.:thumbsup

I'll go anywhere west of the Mississippi for the right boat. Thx for the second set of eyes out there PR.

You're looking for an Outboard?

I remember your Jet at one of the BBSP's kicking everyone's butt. I would have bet money the Mirages and River Rockets would smoke you, man was I wrong! :bowdown

Yes I am. Looking to change things up. My budget is under 20. I only want a Merc.

Thanks. Yeah the boats been a lot of fun. But I just blew up another engine. So I'm going to have Bostick build my engine one more time and I'm selling it for a bigger boat. It ran the fastest I've ever had it before it blew. 87 on gps.

Unfortunately without a FB acct., I can't open that link & see the pics, but Walt wants an Mercury outboard 21 only. Otherwise the red/blue 21 in BHC for 42k looks like a sweet boat!

With all the boat info on Facebook YOU don't have a account. :D Here is what it says.

FOR SALE; 1994 21' Daytona, powered by a BIG FORD.
ENGINE; Ford Racing block (currently 556cu), Forged Scat crank/rods, Kaase oil pump, Armondo oil pan, Custom Aries pistons, Hellfire rings, Cometic head gaskets, Blue Thunder heads with max effort port work, Manley extreme duty valves, 1;8 rockers, Lunati cam (.700 lift), Morel lifters, Blue Thunder intake (port matched to heads), Blower Shop billet intercooler, Hampton 8-71 (18% over driven), 1050 Dominators set up by Jim Guthrie (boost referenced), Custom fuel log, topped off with Al's Blower Service scoop and Lightning Stainless jacketed headers. NO expense was spared on this engine, and is currently featured on a few web sites. Engine is 9:1, runs about 12-13lbs boost, and spins a mag/bronze AA 6500-6600. Runs on pump 91, all day long !!!!
Pump; Dominator suction, MPD set back lo-pro intake, inducer, detailed AA mag/bronze, hardened shaft, manual diverter. Just freshened up by Skagen Boats.
Boat; 1994 Eliminator Daytona, 7 different colors of gel with fades. AM/FM/CD/MP3/I-pod input, amp, 4 speakers, custom nav lights installed, all Marine Comp gauges (backlit blue), most all fasteners have been changed to ARP pieces.
Trailer; FULL repaint and detail, 10" fenders covering Weld Drag Lites rolling on BFG Radial T/A's, all LED's, brakes on 1 axle. When trailer was repainted, all factory stickers were ordered new and installed.
Boat is turn key ready for summer. I have north of 45K into the engine alone. This is a proven RELIABLE build, not a time bomb !!! $36,000

It's not what he's looking for. And his budget is closer to 20k.

I think Walt would love to find a 21 with a 300x.

Nice Walt!.. i saw the pics of the new boat on FB so im glad it worked out for you...looks like you and Chad Fries are twins now with those colors. :thumbsup

Let us know your route with the outboard search. I have been looking to re-power from my merc 200 and am a little lost on the best route to find a decent used or new outboard. online? local shops? etc.

Red and white one looks great but the check is in the mail on the one I found in Michigan. Its an 88, no power, going to get a new 300sx for it is the plan at the moment. Its in very nice condition other than the clear coat someone put over the gel a bunch of years ago to make it shiny versus doing it the correct way and wet sanding it. Interior is still like new, it has new hydraulic steering and new hydraulic jack plate. Owner had a 300x on it at 95 mph and then ran out of lake, he felt 100 was possible. Clear will be removed and the gelcoat restored.

I am a child of the 80's and I like the retro look, it reminds me of a boat I most likely would have ordered new if it was 1988 today and the one that I would have been drooling over parked in front of Sundance when I was 19. Every time I see it I am reminded of all of the drugs I did back then :)

The boat was sold new at the west coast eliminator shop and sold as a twin, along the way the boat was returned to eliminator and converted to a single. My guess is that owner blew up a motor and opted to convert it back to a single versus replacing an engine. It sat unused from 98 till 2012 in a barn when the current owner repowered it and got it back into the water.

Half of the trailer is mint and the other half is the pink color, its a trip, i really would like to meet the guy who ordered it new.

Anyway, the plan is have to it ready for the eliminator regatta in May, and I am pretty sure I have some Oakley blades laying around somewhere.

A new set of raised white lettered tires is going it now before the journey west to keep it looking like it should have back in the day.
