@TPC has an anthology of advice around shackles and shackle hardware.
You know what...I feel bad for wrecking your cloud 9 feel of your purchase. I have an alternate idea based on a little story.
It's funny, I had this exact conversation with a CHP friend of mine over New Years due to my brother's new gigantic toy hauler. He told me most CHP will not pull over an obvious overload situation due to the liability it puts on the officers. If something goes wrong during, or returning to traffic from the stop, the officers could be liable, so... they will only do it if the driver is doing something pretty bad as well. Or a check point. The DOT CHP.... good luck. Although they usually stick to the commercial trucks. If stamped under 10k, regular CHP will not inspect it If they pull you over.
If the CHP commercial guys (usually in trucks) stop you (usually if going over 60mph in CA), they will weigh it. Out of class DL, has 2 option. 1, CHP writes ticket, tells you to drive home and fix DL. 2, they make you park it (or ot gets towed to the yard) and you have to find someone with the correct DL to tow it home.
It sounds like the previous owner took care of all the known issues for Warriors which results is a GREAT hauler for you. I’m currently on my 3rd Weekend Warrior with the current one being a CR3705 double slide and absolutely love it. My 1st one was an 02 FS3000 that I bought new. I loved the trailer, but hated towing it until I finally bought the right hitch to pull it. Once I got that sorted out it was good to go. Congrats on your new home on wheels.Yes, I am aware of those issues, the guy I bought this trailer from spent about $10k in upgrades/repairs between Dec 2021 and Jan 2022, which included the frame reinforcement for both wall sag and tounge, complete roof scrape and reseal, all new seals around compartment doors, resealing of windows and compartments, axle/brake/bearing service, as well as (7) new Goodyear Endurance tires...He gave me the receipts for everything done
Get one of those electric powered trailer dollies. Problem solved. There is no way that can hurt. Keep an eye on those leaf spring bushings and mounts.

Is it the Equal-i-zer brand hitch? If so they are worth every penny when set up correctly.Yeah I have pages and pages of receipts of recent work that was done, so I was happy about that.
One thing I did notice this weekend, is the hitch on my truck has a 2.5" receiver, I have been using the adaptor that allows you to use 2" shank, but it looks like you lose a lot of weight capacity by doing that, the sticker says 12.5k lbs with 1250 lb tongue weight while using the adaptor but goes up to 19k and 1900lbs if you use a 2.5" shank...the Equalizer Hitch the guy gave me has the 2" shank, so I ordered a 2.5" one this weekend.
Yes it’s the Equal-I-Zer brand 1600/16000lbs versionIs it the Equal-i-zer brand hitch? If so they are worth every penny when set up correctly.
