Love the boat, I sure hope you keep the 280’s on it. Keeping them freshened up is not a big deal as long as you don’t hurt them before.
I'm going to use them next season and kinda go from there. Supposeably 35hrs on them. Going to do a leak down and compression test tomorrow to get a base.Love the boat, I sure hope you keep the 280’s on it. Keeping them freshened up is not a big deal as long as you don’t hurt them before.
It's been tried before, they are just too heavy. 280's are 375 lbs, the 300's are 525 lbs, no one has pulled if off yet. Figure it out and I'm right behind you, I would miss the sound though.I'm going to use them next season and kinda go from there. Supposeably 35hrs on them. Part of me wants to throw two 300xs with 15" mids on it.
Yeah I was thinking about it on the way home yesterday. I would have to move 300lbs forward some how. If you could find Optimax 200xs that’s another option. They’re a Merc racing motor that’s basically a reved up 175 Optimax.Yeah I was thinking about it on the way home yesterday. I would have to move 300lbs forward some how. Let's see how old rebuilding the 280s get.
I'm probably not gonna do anything with the motors tbh. I really want a new trailer. If you could find Optimax 200xs that’s another option. They’re a Merc racing motor that’s basically a reved up 175 Optimax.
They are docile like an Optimax but weigh significantly less than a 300xs
Mach 22 with 200s get really close to 100mph
Thanks man! Yeah wife loves the seating. She said she could bring more friends.Congratulations on your new boat. The rear seating is a real plus if not beaching it. Been following that boat for a couple years. Awesome family hot rod. I've got one with 225 promaxes. Super fun boat under reasonable h20 conditions. You're going to absolutely love it.
Too bad you don't know a guy who builds beautiful trailers!I'm probably not gonna do anything with the motors tbh. I really want a new trailer.
Thanks dude. Gonna be awhile till I throw money at it. Just doing the free stuff now.Too bad you don't know a guy who builds beautiful trailers!
I'm sure you will make this beautiful platform even better once you get your hands on it!

Awesome float and congrats! It looks like junior approves too, I am guessing he can tell that is one fun hot rod right there.
There is nothing quite like the sound of those 280's spun up.
Have fun.
I plan on only using Av fuel. Replacing all the fuel filters and pumps now. Hopefully will be good. Those 280's can last quite a while. In my experience, good fuel is the key.
I loved having the Brucato ECU and the Steamwheel on mine. It had a history of leaning out #6 Cylinder twice and Kaboom on the Factory ECU'sI plan on only using Av fuel. Replacing all the fuel filters and pumps now. Hopefully will be good.
