Hey genius:

When there is a little temporary parking beach next to the launch ramp and it has space for two boats....don't park right in the middle.

When my kid is backing down the trailer to load the boat, it is not a good time for you and your little boy to walk between the moving trailer and the water. If there is something in the water you need, wait until it is safe.

When you see a boat towing a tube with kids in it....don't follow 100 yards behind it down the lake. There's lots of room, why do you need to follow me so closely in your giant deck boat?

All the best!

Thats where he's at this year, correct?

The entire lake is pretty much amateur hour these days. :thumbsdown

But at least its open. :D

I wish I knew for sure, I can take up a lot of room at the ramp when needed.. :skull

same thing happened to me at windsor last summer. I was backing the truck down the ramp and i see this 10-12 year old kid dart across the bottom of the ramp. Seriously looked like i almost hit him. Then I got the dirtiest looks from the family. WTF are these parents thinking, could have been real ugly.

Been there too many times on the launch ramp. Its not a playground. How about the Sea doo that jumps a wake...then pulls in front of you and slows or completely drops the throttle.....NICE! Or just casually cuts across your bow.

That happened the trip before..... Jetski passes in front of us, then jumps our wake 30 feet behind my kids in a tube..... :grumble::grumble:

On Saturday one of the Lake Patrol cops....I don't remember which one it was, got close to causing an incident.

We were headed up the lake from Steamboat headed back to the Islander. The officer is ahead of me about 500 yards and 50 yards off my starboard side. A big DCB passes me 100 yards to my left. The lake narrows along here, so I am slowing down to avoid the pinch. DCB is going probably 50, I am going 35 and Patrol boat is going 30. Without any adjustments, it seems like we are all going to arrive at the narrow point at about the same time.

At the same time, coming southbound are three other boats. One of them decides to cut the corner off his trip and head straight towards the east side of the lake (I think...I dunno WHAT he was thinking because this course change puts him right in front of our path). I'm watching the cop....he's on alert....because this knucklehead is headed right for us.....the DCB peels off to the left, so this guy can fit through the grouping of boats. The Water Cop turns on his blue lights......I just know he is going to pull hard left and go after this guy. But I can tell he doesn't know I am there.....I had slowed way down, to give me more reaction time and allow some more space for all this to play out...So I drop off plane, and the cop suddenly notices I am off his stern to port...ooh! His eyes got all big.....Ooops....

I wave and gesture for him to go ahead, he nods and looks a little embarrased and takes off after the off course boater, who has since gone back towards the correct side of the lake.....

I cut right, cop cuts left, and we are all good.....just a little wiser for the experience....
