Not my weekend. Waiting at pirates for vessel assist [emoji107]
T&Y is one sharp cookie!!! I'm glad that situation worked out, kids...

Why was vessel assist called? Vessel Assist is a great entity when broke down on the water away from the marina.

Sometimes we have to think outside of the box.

Worse case scenario, boat won't start.

I'm guessing you launched at Jack Smith's, that's only a 10 minute boat ride from Pirates where someone could have dropped you off to get your truck. Park Moabi does have a boat launch which is key.

About 15 years ago I broke a driveshaft over at Avi and I didn't know a soul over there. I launched at Needles Marina and had a similar dilemma, how do I get my truck to Avi? I simply walked over to the gas station and told my story of being broke down. The second person agreed to take me to Needles Marina since he was going to be on his way home and heading that way. I told my story of being broke down to the Avi Staff and they waived the launch fee's which is the case for most launch sites when broke down. I had my boat back on the trailer in less than an hour...

So this guy wins the award for the "worst day of boating".

Damage to his 280 Python deckboat from the dock at the nautical. Then on the way to pirates lunch yesterday he broke a drive. Gets boat back to trailer and has a flat tire, gets to tire shop and replaces 4 out 6 tires that were soon to need attention. Ouch!

:yikes That sucks:thumbsdown The only times I've left my boat on the docks over night I've put 3 large bouys per side and tied to three points per side for that reason. It sounds like it wouldn't have mattered with the winds you guys got slammed with. That's a very expensive weekend.

And I think we call this milk money clean. Thank you Cam and Matt for putting this on. It was really cool looking at all the different Cobras and talking to some owners. Still haven't personally met you yet cam but one day [emoji12]

Vic, long shot... but do you have one of those lanyard saftey kill switches that will kill the ignition if it's triggered like on a jet ski. I've forgot to switch it up a few times and had the exact same issue you have. Mine is on the throttle shifter and I always turn it off when we park incase one of the kids starts messing with things. It does exactly what you are talking about. The boat will crank but will never start if it's in the down/off position.

You are the man!!!!! My son got me. Live and learn

Incredible.:thumbsup.The Internet never ceases to amaze around here.

Years ago I was up at Bass Lake (Millers Landing) during monsoon season and saw firsthand what damage can be done. The winds blew so hard it mangled and destroyed their dock. Luckily for Millers Landing they heeded the warnings and put their rental boats on the trailers before the storm hit...

I was out on the water this past Wednesday thru Friday and spoke to every Cobra owner I saw telling them about this get together. I also mentioned additional info could be found on this site. I talked (Friday morning) to the kid with the 23' red, orange and white boat with the red bimini who is also a new Cobra owner, he already knew of this get together. I'm not a Cobra owner but I thought I'd help promote your cause...

Pics are showing up on FB. You know what year the 23 is with same gel scheme as my 26'? See it often in Parker. At least it is a different size. I guess the Ultra traits passed on to Cobra. I thought I had a custom Ultra turns out over the years there were at least 6 made exactly same gel. At least mine was first then copied.

If I remember right, it was listed a couple years ago, before yours.. If memory serves it's an '04 or '05... I could be off though

Thanks to everyone for participating! I know Friday nights adventure with the storm threw a wrench in to the weekend a bit, but all in all, a great time!!

Having the reserved dock space right up front
at the Pirates Cove was a cool thing .

I wasn't really too happy w the pirates deal. We went to the docks first but my wife wanted a beach for the kids. We went over to the beach in front and started unloading. We figured we would stay there so we could go in and get food and talk. Well as we are unloading we are told no chairs or ez up on the beach.... Ok... Whatever... We are there for a few minutes and staff comes up and tells my dad he can't be drinking on the beach. We packed up and drove across the river.

Pretty much standard operating procedure on that side.

Thats how they make their $$. If they allowed chairs / ez ups and beer. then the beach would be packed with non patrons using the facilities and the patrons would be a mile down the road..

I actually disagree. They said I had to rent a room to put chairs. I asked how much they said they were already taken. I would have gone in and ordered something w the rest of the cobra group but instead I went to the other side and just ate and drank what I had. No big deal.

From the pictures it looks like throtttle and Havaduner had a hell of a turn out! I thought it was just a couple of boats getting together. Has I known I would have definitely come by and covered the event!

As packed as that beach gets during the summer they would lose $$$ hand over fist if they allowed it..

Your first mistake was thinking you would have a good meal there. Pack a lunch and stay on the other side.[emoji106][emoji1]

I'm with Vic on that one. I haven't set foot in that bar for two seasons because of that. I think if they didn't have red polos patrolling the beach and telling everyone what they can't do, it would just be a better environment. Security is important, but just take it down a notch.
