So Saturday evening literally just after dark I’m standing at the dock at Branson’s and along comes a lone wave tractor. New or newer hi dollar boat with two big blue LED ATV type antennas in the back cruising along right down the middle in full plow mode traveling south to north with of course no one in the water. The docks and boats tied were seriously banging hard to the point that I got off quick and as it traveled just north of me past the pirate I could hear a lot of people yelling. Wtf🤷🏻‍♂️

You are responsible for damage/injuries caused by your wake. In the real world it is often difficult/impossible to determine which boat created a particular wake. But, not in this situation. It is obvious. If there were damage or injury, photos or videos would be substantial evidence. ‘Maybe’ if a few of the wave tractors were to be cited, the word may get around to others. Common sense plays a tremendous role.

A paint ball gun would be a good way for him to understand Your mentality.

They think it is cool. Just like the guys with the loudest fart can exhaust on their Honda civic, just like the guys with straight pipe Harleys revving their bikes, and just like the guys blasting their ear drums out with their windows down in their Nissan Altima's. They are either too self centered to care about how it effects anyone else, or too young and dumb to be aware.... because in the examples above, 90% of people they're around think they're idiots.

I am not against wakeboard boats when someone is wakeboarding.....what drives me nuts is this same scenario....we live on a small lake, wife and I went down to the main beach on Saturday late afternoon to just relax and enjoy the water...there was one wakeboard boat just doing lap after lap with nobody behind hit at full ballast from what I can tell (bow pointed in the air, monster wakes behind the boat) just plowing and causing so much wake for no reason...

I think the places some people choose to wake surf is just dumb.

Right outside of Steamboat, right outside of Thompson Bay no wake zone, between Thompson Bay and Site 6 but not in a cove, right outside of Copper Canyon/Riviera/Windsor.

But then I think about driving to work, to and from Havasu, or really anywhere. People do the most inconsiderate shit on the road and get pissed when you honk or go around them.

Hell, I saw someone tubing between the Sandbar and the mouth of the river two weekends ago.

I think it might be time for some 10mph bow up S turns with my big ass V bottom in front of some these clowns.

I've had a few plow like that on the river. After passing them, which can be tricky at times, I'll inadvertently wander towards the shallow areas. Most tend to follow.
I've never actually seen one hit bottom. Yet. Maybe some day.

My Formula 41 PC was excellent for retaliation. No tag numbers were displayed since it was CG registered. Load the drinks and neighbors up, then plow a few rows. 👍

Seem to be more and more of them all the time, and they are getting bigger and the kids dumber. I wont even go to Parker on the weekends anymore.

Parker closed a few years back….

Don’t think you could even get on the water these days !

I’m curious - Historically, has anyone on the Parker Strip, Havasu, the Topock area and on up to Laughlin ever been cited due to damage or injury from their wake? Boat Cop, would you know?

…In my days of going to the River/Parker… There were no wake boats… All V-Drive flat bottoms… A few outboards and a couple of jets… This was like from 1963 to 1969… It was a fun place… I just can’t imagine what Parker would be like now😳…Yikes…

As long as we can all agree that a Blown Big Block with dry exhaust sounds great at any time.

And a Flatty with zoomies making a sunrise pass is the best way to wake up.

We have become a bunch of grumpy old men.. lol

Soooo.... Another perspective..... Its just "after dark" they are going 7-11mph being responsible to not over drive the conditions or lack of visibility.. You with me so far????

Any late model wake boat is going to plow (that's what they are built to do) at these speeds. Should they (a) travel in the low to mid 20mph range and risk an accident from going to fast, or (b) come to idle speed and be out even later (probably with the stereo up, thus causing more complaints)?

I am 100% not saying that every wake boat that goes by your dock slow, making huge wake isn't full of ballast, because I agree that some idiots do this! But I am saying that any late model wake boat, REGARDLESS of ballast load is going to toss a big wake! Everyone on here (majority) think these guys are always loaded, which they are not. These are displacement hulls that are designed to make a wave, which they do well.

Would the reaction be any different if the boat in question was a different type of boat? How about a 25-28 SeaRay plowing at 10? A big deck boat struggling to get on plane because the fat guys outweigh the big titties in the boat? Is it a wake hatred, or a wake boat hatred?

We are all guilty of a "river crime" at some point. Too loud, to fast, to much wake, etc.. We are all boaters-most here are experienced, have had good days and bad. I would guess 30% own an inboard/towboat of some sort, along with the Cat/V/Big Deck/Pontoon. I think the real issue is not the boat, but respecting the waterway and fellow boaters. Wake boats are the largest offender-regarding dock/boat damage.
Rental Jet Skis are by far the worst, followed closely by rented pontoons, in regards to people I have almost hit because of their unpredictable driving.

I personally enjoy the lower river area, and its pretty easy to find a mile of glass to use our old, no ballast, wakeboard boat.

Need a jet boat and roost the shit out of them. Then blame it on their wake jamming the mechanism

… There used to be a dock like that at the Polynesian up towards the dam… A friend of mine came in hot in his beater cracker box with a 312 Ford in it …he didn’t get out of it in time I guess …and it went up over the dock and clipped the top of a guys really nice flat bottom… My friend went in the bar and told the guy …the guy came out and looked at the damage to the fiberglass and spark arrester on his… I think it was a side oiler… and said ….Oh that’s OK don’t worry about it. 🤷🏽‍♀️… Nice guy👍

Every boat and situation above remains responsible and liable for their wake and damage or injury caused by that wake.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I bet it would take video and 10 witnesses and probably still be difficult to prosecute.🤷‍♂️

STOP!
These new generation wake surf boats are 100% built to make a giant wake to surf behind that is their ENTIRE purpose! You with me so far?
A SeaRay or deck boat or any other boat you wanna list is NOT built to put out a giant wake to surf behind!

Dont get me started on these fuckers. Didnt have much of a problem with them until the early evening before HinH. I was TOWING a disabled boat to the Riviera from about a mile south of Point Rock. My lady and I had a mellow day and were rolling out of a cove and found a couple stranded so we towed them. Asshole saw us from a far…flags out on both vessels with lights on and waving at this jerkoff. Dickhead stayed his course and sent a wave into us and boat being towed…had to throttle down and even it out. If that guy is on here…Im calling you out to the DOCKTAGON asshole.
