Im planning on buying a used tritoon this winter. The tifecta sport series and the bennington qx series.
My wife and I are getting older (52 yr old) and the kids are all grown so our time with the ultra jet is done.
Ive never owned a pontoon but from what Ive read I think it will be up our alley.
Id like dual outboards but its not a deal breaker if I find 1 w/o as long as it atleast has a 400 on the back.
Anyone have any knowledge on the 2 brands Ive choosen?

if you can afford duals, ok maybe.

otherwise...don't do it. I regret the change like most end up doing lol

Trifecta, Bennington and Avalon were the 3 I came down to.

I’ve only been on the Trifecta. I’d buy one in a heartbeat. Solid boat, scoots through anything, more room than you’ll ever need.

I dont understand the 2 outboards on a toon. But im also not spending 200k on one.

We have a avalon. Been flawless. No regrets on the manufacturer.
It was 90k in 2015. Probably 140ish now

I’m in the market as well. I’ve been checking them out, and I’d say it’s a ford, dodge, Chevy thing as afar as the high end goes. I like the Avalon, because it doesn’t have bars on the outside panels, that make it hard to wipe down. I’m. Shooting for the world to end here in a month so I can pic one up. I’m staying under 300 hp, and a single engine because I am not a baller.

300 and over Hp gets you excellent power steering ( hydraulic ) and drive by wire in merc power.

Look for the performance in the tunes - lifting strakes High HP rating etc if buying used

Also make sure the under side of the deck is skinned

If you have the room for twins ! They are big boats

also looks for at least 150 g fuel tank !

That would be my choice!

A ski locker is a must have for noodles!!!

I'm a Benninton fan myself. IMO, the fit and finish is a little nicer. We bought a new Q25 in 2019 and love it.

Not sure if you had seen this... don't know if it will actually help in your decision or not. But here is a link of Berkshire w/400R (same as Trifecta and South Bay).

I was originally interested in the Benny QX also, the Trifecta's, SouthBay's and this Berkshire won me over for a couple of years.

Last October we were planning on placing an order on a new Benny and decided to wait. We said we would re-evaluate this October, targeting a delivery date for spring 2023 and we are still holding out.

I still like the Bennington QX the most, I agree with other statements that I think the fit and finish is nicer than the Forest River line ups. I looked closely at the Avalon too, and overall like it but still found myself going back to the Bennington. The Avalon and Bennington are must more stable ride based on their weight.

Twins vs single... I have told myself that its about functionality, quality and value. Not going to be as fast obviously but I am not going to gain much (maybe 5-7mph) by spending extra money to hang another motor on back, use more gas and have additional maintenance costs.

Good luck with your search / purchase.

I have had two DCB's, a 22 with twin drags and a 26 with twin 300x's loved them both but it was time for a change. Bought a 26' Avalon with a 250 Honda and love it!
