The wing is basically a swamp guard. This boat doesn't have much free board so when sitting or at idle waves can roll over the rear of the boat and swamp it even sink it. The guard is designed to help stop that.

Exactly. It's definitely not part of the boat.

There is another bull that looks very similar to the Rayson, but my feeble mind can't recall what is it.

@Clank123 may recall?

Looking again.
You might find a HIN behind one of those interior panels?
Maybe?🤷‍♂️

Is usually starboard transom.
Supposed to be one forward and interior somewhere.
If it’s been repainted someone may have filled in the transom.

May think about laying back down and climbing forward under deck as far as possible.
Look up.
There may be a number, or a business card laminated in.

Wish I could help.
I typically don’t even break stride to look at a jet boat.
Have seen 3 or 4 over the years that somewhat caught my attention, rode in Ben’s Blown Alcohol 21 tunnel Eliminator that was way impressive.
Looking at the pictures it’s definitely not a Raysoncraft…the lines aren’t right I don’t think.
The dead giveaway to me is the angled deck that leads up to the gunnel(which is notched at the drivers seat). Note how the gas fills sit on an angle.
Could not have been many hulls built like that, a good jet bote guy can probably identify this pretty easy.

Pretty sure it is a Nordic.
I believe that Orval only laid up a very fue jet boats and most were from the 70's we have an 85 Nordic and we were talking to Orval about a jet and he told us that he wasn't building jets

Orval did not build a lot of them. I only know of two, and both are in Blythe / Ehrenberg area. Hull did not work great and needed the fixed plates. The curved deck by the fuel fills is what makes me sure it is a Nordic.

Definitely looks nearly identical to my brother's '78 Nordic jet boat, cav plate and all. Very heavy layup but even as heavy as it was, she moved out very well with a BBF/tunnel ram single carb.
Matter of fact he won the plaque for the oldest Nordic at a jamboree back in the late 90's, great boat. 👍

That's what I'm thinking...

It's a v-drive hull someone rigged as a jet.

That's crazy I can't find anything about it online and yet to find one like this online. The registration #'s when I ran them came back and said "norriscr 18ft propeller driven. But to me it's clearly not that. As I can't find that maker or boat. 1🤷

The registration numbers when I search then thru the TWRA come back as a 1973 norriscr 18'. But I can't find that company or boat so... 🤷 it doesn't have a hull ID# plate.

Pretty sure it is a Nordic.
I have raced every Rogers model. Not a Weiman or Rogers. Where is @old rigger he worked for Roger Weiman.

I think you might be right, Nordic. One of these popped up on FB market place last week. I saw it (looking for one more build/resto for my grandson...he's 6 so I have a little time) and forgot about it until this hull in question. Not much to go on as far as pics but the dip in the gunwale, the fade away of the gunwale into the bustle (kinda like a Rogers) were the things that caught my eye.

I didn't know you raced Rogers hulls! Have we met? You drop by Rogers in the 80's?

Forgot the transom shots, looks like a match to me. Wish we could see the parting line.
