Thanks again to @Badold65 for the help with these scans, very appreciative.

I posted the story a few weeks ago with the issue I had with an alarm issue. I was cruising south by pilot rock in Havasu and got a full alarm then the motor went into guardian mode. Checked all the fluids and all was fine so started it back up and ran fine the rest of the weekend but never really pushed it. For piece of mind Badold65 came and scanned the motor to see if there was something obvious that needed to be fixed. Below are the scans but they might as well be in Russian to me as I have no idea what they mean. Badold65 didn't see anything that popped out at him but suggested to post them on here to get more feedback. I'm going to clean out the steering reservoir and the screen in that which was suggested in my previous post.

Anyone with any knowledge with these scans see anything that needs attention? Sorry for the cell phone pictures of the reports.

iac output indicates a bad IAC. all the rest are phantom codes/non equiped sensor data

guardian is probably assosiated with the in-gear overspeed and/or the tpsi fault which is the throttle position sensor if its a cable controlled engine or the throttle body assembly if its a DTS motor

have you tried a different prop?? no seriously....😜

edit: jist saw the TPSI fault

Appreciate the feedback and help. We've had the same prop for 15 years now so don't think that is the issue. So most likely I need to replace the IAC and most likely the throttle position sensor or TPSI fault?

Thank you,

The active IAC fault will cause the Guardian/Overspeed fault. Replace the IAC as suggested earlier. Did he erase the active faults and rescan to see if the TPS fault came back active? Sometimes that can be a random fault and will clear forever or come back again later.

A little hard to see but In the first photo, guardian was set because of the sea pump pressure. If I'm seeing it correctly, the engine is just under 4K RPM and the sea pump pressure is under 5 psi. That is why it went into guardian mode

i believe it would show a separate "sea water pressure low" fault if that were the case

I’m pretty sure I have a new IAC for a 496HO at home. You can have it if I do, but I won’t be home until Sunday to check. Just let me know if you want it.

Block Pressure low is initiating guardian strategy...

You have a water pump issue: bad pump or blockage after the pump but before the sensor. Unlikely that its a bad sensor because its reading different values in the screenshots and appears to be operating fine.

looking closer, its running away from pressure... its making 2-3 pounds at idle, 14 at 2600, and then back down to 4 at 4000. 4000 is the threshold where a certain amount of pressure is required (18 psi I think) or it will engage guardian and keep you below 4000. Maybe a corroded gimbal water neck causing inlet restriction.

The block pressure is a code I got a couple of years ago
Went into limp mode as well. If this is is buy another sensor and learn how to change it. Tiny pieces of sand can get in there and cause it to limp.

Still got that IAC? I'd be happy to pay you for it or trade for some booze/beer.

Thanks,

Pretty sure I do, let me go look in the boat box and I’ll let you know. If I do it’s yours, no cost. I have no use for it. I’ll let you know in a few minutes.

Yours if you want it. I’m in San Clemente if you want to pick it up, or I can ship it to you. If I ship I can’t send it off until next week as I’m leaving in the morning and won’t be back until Monday night.

Awesome. I have a few buddies that live down there and can have one of them pick it up. Tried to shoot you a PM but it’s not working or I’m not smart, probably the latter. You can send me a text and we can iron out the details. 949892838one.

Thank you very much, appreciate it.
