It seems I cannot catch a break when it comes to health issues lately. I had a heart stress test on Monday and I was informed today that the test showed some minor blockage in one of my arteries. They won’t know if it’s actual blockage or just reduced blood flow until he does the angiogram. He is attempting to schedule an angiogram next week and I should have some sort of schedule in the next day or two.

Damn RR. Keeping my🤞🤞 crossed for the best outcome.
I’m sitting here in the pulmonary office waiting on a lung test. Luckily so far my other test have come back fairly positive (no cancer).

Thanks. Just frustrating dealing with all this. I've been asking for these tests ever since I recovered from COVID and this could have potentially been found over 2 years ago. I just hope this stops my heart racing issue. Highly doubt will solve my breathing issue

Maybe this is the issue you've had all this time?

Cardiologist seems to think my heart and breathing issues are completely separate issues

Well I sure hope they figure this out.

I know this much...

Billy at JMS had a heart attack, at the track, while he was getting out of his race car. Thank gawd he had it there, cause the first responders were on him almost instantly. They literally brought him back from the dead.

When he got to the hospital, they found his heart 90 percent clogged or some shit like that. He went through some major open heart surgery.

Months later??

He looked 10 years younger. He laid off the smoking and drinking and looked like a whole new man. I couldn't believe how different he looked and he couldn't believe how different he felt.

I really was a miracle. I hope this deal with you works out the same way.

🙏🙏🙏

It sure is.
It’s a drag getting old..

It depends on your point of view. As a kid, I wanted to be older. Now I am older, but feel much older at times. Those times, I wish I was younger...but then I wouldn't be who I am, or where I am today.

Getting older can be a drag, but I don't care much for the alternatives. Different hurdles, but still running the same race.

Same race just twice as hard.

RR - In 2018, I took my annual stress test and doc said I failed it. I called bullshit on it. I said No Way. I felt fine and had had absolutely zero issues with any pain. Turns out I was wrong and probably not far from a big heart attack. My cardiologist said he was going to do an angiogram, but it turned into an angioplasty with two stents installed. Had two blockages in the "widowmaker" on the back side of the heart. One 90% and one 70% blocked. All has been good since then, but don't be surprised if he doesn't install a stent or two while he's in there depending on the amount of blockage. You might ask him about it. My guy said "if" there was no blockage (and he laughed at that, because he knew) I would go home that day. If there was and he installed stent(s), I'd have to spend the night at the hospital. Well...... I spent the night in the hospital.
They put me in twilight anestesia, so I was in and out. Woke up with the doc and his assistant shootin' the shit while they worked. Worst part was when he was applying pressure on the entry at the groin to seal off the femoral artery. Hurt like hell, but it was over in a couple of minutes.

Curious, did you do an actual stress test on a treadmill? My guy quit that and now uses a pet scan to do the stress test. It's much easier, but I have to admit that it's very weird feeling when they are stressing your heart while in that machine.

Good luck to you. It's not as bad as you think it's going to be.

My angiogram is scheduled for Nov 16th at 2pm.
The Angiogram Is a piece of cake and can tell exactly what is going on. And a lot of times they can just put a stent in right then if they need to. You can be awake with a little sedation and watch the whole thing If you want to and go home the next day. If you have too many blockages they will recommend bypass open heart surgery. I had a Quadruple bypass in September 2006 and I had one Stent put in 2016. Nowadays that kind of surgery is like a walk in the park.
Prayers go out to you hope everything goes smooth as can be.

P.S. you can shave your balls before you go in.
Or let them do it and they're gonna do only half of you're nuts ha ha ha ha..

I had an angiogram and stent placed in 2008 when I had a heart attack in the "widow maker" artery. Same artery is showing possible blockage now.

Yup the Widow Maker does suck that's where I had my original blockage and then they found out that everything was blocked.
That's why I had them do the Quadruple Bypass so I could go back to doing all the things that I liked doing.

Hoping the best for you. I’ve had more angiograms than I can count, I feel like an expert. My last one was done through my wrist instead of my groin which is a 1000 times easier. At the time they placed two stents and it was easy peazy. Hope you have the same experience or even better, they go in and find nothing. Stress tests are not super accurate.

Why dont you guys do some research on what processed foods are doing to you. A low carb diet can reverse alot of ailments. Insulin resistance, diabetes, heart disease , fatty liver and cancer are just a few of the ailments afflicting people and are caused by processed foods. We have kids with fatty liver which had previously been limited to acholics. Around 93% of americans have 1 or more metobolic diseases.

Lots of good info on youtube. Dr sean omara shows scans of what eating processed foods do to you. Dr's berry, berg, chaffee, hymin, ekberg etc have great info on health and nutrition.

You can complain about cancer, heart attacks, diabetes etc or you can learn about what is slowly killing you and your family and friends. Diabetes can be reversed, your dr wont tell you how. You can be the guy riding the scotter around wal mart or you can be fit and healthy. The choice is yours

Make sure and ask about going through the wrist instead of the groin. I don’t know if it’s a newer technique or what. I had multiple angiograms through the groin during 2020-2021 and then in 2022 through the wrist. The recovery and healing time is so much easier.

And then come on here to say cancer sucks or i am dying to young from....fill in the blank. Or to complain about the cost of health care when 75% of health care costs are caused by your diet. That doesnt include cost to missed work etc.

Most cardiologists either use the groin or the wrist but not both. Many are old school and have not been trained to use the wrist. I like the idea, but my guy goes for the groin. I like him and don't want to have to change doctors this late in life. My brother's cardiologist is a wrist guy. Just different techniques.

They have to say that or they can lose their license for disinformation, misinformation or for even questioning any relationship covid or the vax may have, even if it meant not getting tests done because of restrictions. My wife's been dealing with aggressive breast cancer & guess what, she had to skip a yearly mammogram. She had to catch it herself unfortunately. Just sayin'

Good luck to you. At least you're catching all this during stress tests & not beign caught by surprise while working, or some strenuous activity.

Your in my thoughts RR. They will get you cleared up. At least they have an idea where to start.

About a month back I did the entire ensemble of heart testing. Echocardiogram, Nuclear Stress test that was a two day procedure including two 1/2 hr runs in the CT Tube, and two weeks of a super trick heart monitor.

Produced some cool stuff for 800 chest x-rays worth of radiation exposure. They now have a modern take on my heart rhythm issues. Had to stay away form my family for a couple days because I was radioactive. I want it fixed but no decision yet. The percentages aren't quite enough for oblation therapy. So change the meds and keep on going.

When you have a nuclear cardiac rest and stress make sure they due a third view and prone you laying on your stomach it helps answers some questions. Most of the new gamma cameras have some form of ct capability (dental X-ray tube) the helps attenuation correction for the man’s or woman’s sagging chichis. Always ask the cardiologist if it’s reversible defect or fixed which is no bueno. Pet can due it all with no need to prone but very expensive and most hospitals don’t have them. Radiation wise it’s a diagnostic dose.Which means you can be out and about in general public. Therapy dose is a different beast.

Hope this helps Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist

My doc referred me out for a stress test last January because I mentioned palpitations and a squeezing sensation in my chest. They only happened once and only for a few minutes, so I had put it off. Maybe it's time to go get a look.

So I got mine done yesterday and Doc's office called to schedule me for a stat appointment with the cardiology department. What exactly did they see in yours? I made the mistake of Googling my shit and one indication could be a blockage. Seeing your pictures scares the shit out of me.

If it’s that bad, you go straight to the hospital. Keep that in mind.

My father did the test, then straight to the hospital overnight with an angiogram the next day, to triple bypass the following day.

No real symptoms in a very long time. Had a flutter that lasted about 3-5 seconds a couple of days ago. Nurse told me if I feel any chest pains to go straight to ER which I will. Guess I’ll see what all the fuss is about come Monday.

81 mg aspirin.
When I felt like an elephant was sitting on my chest, doggy aspirin was all I had in the house.
My Dr said it probably saved my life.

Good thoughts for you.

And that’s the thing, when I had my chest pain, there was zero pressure associated with it. It lasted maybe 3 minutes. That was probably a year ago. Anyway, I’m getting things checked out now. I really don’t need anything more on my plate right now.

About 2 weeks ago I was picking up meds at the pharmacy. I didn't feel "right", so used the blood pressure thing they have...

Well, now checking twice a day, and have an appointment with a doctor next week. Haven't been to one in some time, but the last year has probably aged me more than I was aware. Hoping to get things squared away, in researching, I have just about every marker that makes me a candidate for issues. I'd just have to start smoking and I think that'd be all of them.

Its hard for the average human to think there is something wrong with their heart. Its something I ate or I get stressed driving or well you get it.
Thing is it could actually be just that or NOT. Hard to convince folks to get checked out.

I remember RR had a difficult time getting used to his new CPAP. Rich I hope you have settled in with that thing. I'm going on 20+ years.

If your waking up tired after 7-8 hrs sleep get a sleep study done. Having Apnea is a death sentence over time.

For me I have electrical problems just reconfirmed by a Nuclear stress test with zero notable plaque. My Apnea is caused mostly by Autonomic Dysfunction (Brain) or sinus node malfunction (heart). I continue to live with it as burning nerve bundles needs at about 20% malfunction and I'm about 4% but during the day I feel everything and its a bit hard to live with.

Hang in there Ritchey they will get it right. Your heart is still healing. What you went through is the second reason the F word was invented.

My heartbeat was relatively low my last 2 visits for unrelated issues. I figured it was my BP meds, but going back and looking at my logs, I've never been that low. The stress test it took a few minutes of walking at a mild clip on an incline to get me up to the target rate they wanted. But, there were some anomalies with the wave pattern. Guess I'll find out on Monday.

Thanks for the reply. Keep getting better!
