Will head up for Dinner around Sunset, and I'm not planning on getting home until waaaayy late..

If you guys want to join you are more than welcome, and it's one of the coolest experiences you will ever do in a boat!

That said if you decide to drive fast at night on the way home, I don't know you.. don't want to know you, and I think you are going to kill yourself or someone else. We literally idle / (just above idle speed) the entire way back home from Topock and stop at all the sandbars etc..

I am a little concerned about how we are going to get through the mouth of the river now that the dredged no wake zone is all but filled in. I'm going to pre-run it once or twice this week and see if I can find a channel that I can GPS and we can idle through.

This sounds like fun. FYI...... couple sticks dynamite on your test runs and that channel would be good to go! :)

Maybe get the boat lined up in the slot on the non no wake side and put the drives up in trailer and float through. Or walk it through. Can’t make this one but the next one I think I am in

Made it through the no wake channel fine last Tuesday morning (6/19) heading north. My son’s did a recon sortie on their water maggots (PWCs) and then acted as path finders leading the way. Water got shallow (waist deep or less) in the center about 2-3 bouys after entering the zone. We stuck to the right (east) side of the channel in the Campbell V drive and the depth seemed to be 4’ or greater.

Why are using the no wake zone? Why not go the normal route like you would during the day?

I went through there last week. Just hug the bouy line on the east side of the channel.

Last year was fun. We’re in. Is Topock doing steak and lobster again?

Originally I was going to do it at Windsor like last time and then head North.. There's going to be a DUI Check Point right around there because they always do it the weekend before the Holiday. While I don't expect anybody will be drinking I'd rather not deal with the Bullshit if I don't have too.

I'm launching at the Marina, and will be heading out to the buoy line in Thompson Bay in front of the Nautical at 5:45 pm.. Departing the buoy line at 6:15.

This sounds like fun, I'll be in Havasu with KenM all next week. I'll see if the wife wants to go with everyone.

Sounds like it would be a fun float down river but can I ask you guys something does your boat end up getting covered by a zillion nats? Seems like everytime I am out past sunset a billion nats are all over the inside of the boat making it miserable for passengers. Never had this problem years ago.

They are only out during sunset.. I haven't ever seen them out late at night, unless you are hanging around a light source.

Why can't you idle thru that area at night. Is the water low?

I don't think I said you couldn't? I thought he was saying run it on plane..

Typically the water is a little lower at night I believe FYI. Or it could be that we are always a little off course (off of center) at night because you can't see shit.. LOL

Lol. Same thing happened to me last time I went up river. If you stick to the east side bouts it’s ok.. but damn don’t go left on the way up! Knee deep at best! We actually got stuck and couldn’t get off of it until a group of guys helped us out!
