...It was late in the day when I took the pic... ...Maybe 3:30 or 4:00???... ...It was slightly windy but very tollerable for the big boats... ...Judging from the 20 to 30 trailers still in the parking lot,...there were still some big and some small boats out... ...All boats are to be off the water by 6 pm... .

..Rule #1 at Castaic,...don't go on a weekend in the middle of the summer unless you like crowded freeways... ...Rule # 2,...no alcohol period...

...I don't know if this is true or not, but supposedly the entire lake is under video survalence???... ...Anybody know for sure???...

...If the stays warm I may give it a go tuesday???...

Lake was a nice day. We had a slight breeze but it was perfect for my boat. We saw Jersey Mike from PB out there and we all had fun running around the lake together.
Cops were cool. :thumbsup
Weather was nice. :thumbsup
Water was cold as hell. :thumbsdown

...You know thats a good question???... ...I've been on it many times and can't remember???... ...If you mean is it funky,...no it isn't...

Yes the lake has cameras on it . at least two for sure back in Elizabeth canyon. Don't know how strict they will be now with all the Quagga BS, but common sense goes a long way ya know...

Yes it is. You can see them on the top of the mountain tops. Solar powered and cameras in multi directions. I heard from a LASD that no one monitors them for now.

NO Castaic is a clean lake. Pyramid will get green in late summer thou.

They are gonna loss a lot of peeps to this BS.
The guy checked my boat and said it was clean on the outside. He needed to see the engine compartment. I said Ok. He then stepped on to the boat with shoes on :grumble::grumble: He looks in the bilge and says you have a little oil at the bottom. I said well its a blower motor so you get a little blow by sometimes. He then goes and says I could fail you because the law says no fluid in the bilge. I told him do they live in oil? He said no. So I told him then how does the oil make it so I couldn't launch? He then tip toed around for a while and says your ok but next time the bilge needs to be dry. Needless to say I have 2 sea strainers that are full of water and he doesn't see/say anything about it.
I dont know how this whole thing is gonna play out in the middle of summer but it should be interesting.
This whole inspection took 10 min and then you go back to the gate and pay your launch fee. When leaving you go to same place and get a band to bypass inspection next time if the band is not broken from your boat/trailer.

They ride in on horseback too from back in the canyon.

Yup. If u keep going the same lake then its not as much of a pita. Once u get an inspection, you'll get a band put on ur trailer/boat.

Once we got our Shockwave we stopped going to Castaic, Pyramid, and Piru. They were so crowded we couldn't plane out and the Quagga thing just made it even worse, I drug the boat home from Havasu last month and the guy at the inspection station wanted to give me a full body cavity search for mussels..........I'll just stay in Arizona.

...I towed a boat back from Georgia when this all started... ...It was full of mung and mire... ...I guess because i told them the boat hadn't been in the water in 13 years they didn't pursue it???... ...I get the boat home and discovered it was full of some kind of huge beetles... ...The beetles started exploring and went over into the neighbors pool... ...Their pool man told them that the beetles were from their garbage cans... ...I never told them any different,... although now that I think about it they soon put their cans about a foot from my driveway... ...So once again the jokes on me...
