Well, we have fleet week coming next week. I’m working Sat, and Sunday so it should be epic. Blue Angels, Thunderbirds, Red Bull stunt planes etc, etc, They have always given us a wave as they do their fly by. This is one of those weeks that makes me love my job. Back in 2016 one of your sister boats showed up at a luncheon honoring my Father in law. They did a little water dance for him that really meant a lot to my wife and her family. He was a retired BC from your department.

That would have been the Phoenix or the Guardian. There are only three Pilots/Captains. So there’s a 1/3 chance it was me!, It’s a pretty cool way to honor someone. The family will remember it for rest of their life.

Parking can be tough. I just walked by the underground parking at Pacific city and no one’s coming in not sure of the fee they have a valet that opens at 10 AM it’s $50 which is cheap for all day.

The wife and I were camping in the Santa Cruz area this week. We got a call from a friend asking us if we wanted to watch the air show from his boat (48' Cris Craft). We drove from SC to San Pedro, and then stayed up drinking until 2 a.m.
But waking up to this doesn't suck.

Fished out of Newport this morning in my skiff till 10:00 am.
On my way back in I was surprised how many boats were leaving the harbor to go watch the show.
Prob saw 50-ish boats full of folks.
Got lucky ... was at the launch ramp before the crowd . . . and when I got back, everyone was gone ! LOL.
Definitely the most stressful ocean boating I've ever done is being out there in a 30' and everyone fires up right as show ends and hauls back to squeeze into the harbor.... all at once shit show... over the years I tried different methods like going way out and coming back in straight but there are so many vessels you can't escape the wakes and folks love to be be the first at everything in Newport.

You havent been to Desert Storm sir I assume? Hehe. The rush from once the boats go by on the Poker Run to thompson bay is the definition of the ultimate shit show.

Not sure what warrants a successful show but the amount of people milling around Saturday was pretty crazy.

Can't say I have. And can't say I will ha ha... man oh man my ass muscles were sore for days. just trying to keep my snout up with an open or 30'. Don't wish to get in contest but come on out with 60' cruisers coming in hot to that narrow Nprt harbor channel opening and let me know the comparison. no idea where and what the width of Thompson Bay is but I know you were puckered as me or you wouldn't have related ha.
