Quite possibly the worst idea I've seen. Rows of picnic tables to sit at? No servers? I have to get up and go get my own beer everyone I want one? Really? Wtf? Maybe The owner is a liberal? SMH!! Beer is good though but at 7bucks a beer I think I'll just stay in the main part of town! :rolleyes

Thanks! Didn't see that. Well here's your first review thread then! Lol! Look If in going to a restaurant / bar it better have a f*****g server!

It's the way some of the breweries are doing it now. Ballast Point in Long Beach does the same thing.

That's cool if that's the way they want to do it but I won't do it. Don't care how good the beer is. The only time I want to get up from my table is when I recycle it! Lol!

IF you are talkin AZ... then I don't know. But if you are talking CA, then there are a SHIT ton of rules governing tasting/tap rooms. They are not bars and are not allowed to have the same settings.

Why get up for that? I prefer a piss bucket under the table.

Same set up as port brewing in Carlsbad. Numerous others as well
Wildly successful and crowded.

That may be a problem. People see successful locations set up like that and try to copy that time imitate their success. Problem is, it isn't necessarily the set-up as much as the product and location as anything else.

Years ago we were coming back from the Roddin' On the River show in Laughlin. Lunch was at the Harley Davidson dealership in Williams. I had never been but the group I was with raved about the place. We go in, order a round and everyone gets the burgers. Out comes the guy with several pounds of raw hamburger patties on a platter and walks off. I hadn't noticed the grills in the corner. We all cooked our own lunches and I thought it was pretty cool.

Then I visited a couple more places like that, cook your own steak joints and one other hamburger restaurant.

And it dawned on me that I was paying about 10 times as much then it would have cost to stay home and burn my own steaks on my own grill.

Not necessarily an apples to apples comparison here, and probably a cool concept once or twice. A lot more fun in a large group, but a PITA for a regular lunch spot to have to be your own waiter and/or cook.

I avoid those types of places if I am choosing these days. But hey, if someone else is up for it, I'll be sport.

Tasting rooms in CA do very well as long as the product is good, regardless of location. Adding food to the model complicates things. I haven't been to Ballast Point, or Stone for that matter, but they seem to be killing it.

I wish Hangar 24 well, but it will be a tough sell in Havasu.

The brewer and restaurant that leases property from me(Bagby Beer Co) has a combination of full and self service. Sit down indoor and some outdoor service is there, much of the outdoor garden and patio areas you go order at the bar.

Bagby's is awesome, love that place. Downstairs, upstairs, tasting room and patio. Each area takes on its own personality. Always fun.

Great place! The landlord is a good guy as well. Hard to believe that was a car dealership before.

Hangar 24 is having their Havasu grand opening on February 25th. They are having a fly in with several war birds on display. They said there will be drink/food deals starting at 1100am and beers on tap that are new to the bar.

I ate there today and the cheese burger and onion rings were delicious.

The no servers thing is not that big of a deal. You order and pay at the counter, sit down with your drink in hand and they bring it to you and ask if you need anything else. Works for me. I hate waiting for a waitress to order drinks, food then wait forever for the check then wait for the change.

Can't have bad service if you don't have any in the first place.

Couldn't agree with you more. I love going to places like this! Can't wait to check it out this summer.

I never thought of it that way. Makes me want to go back now.

We ate there a few weeks ago and I thought the food ( burger and tacos) were really good. The only thing that struck me was that right where a nice bar should be was the line where you order and then take your drinks to a picnic table. Seems to me people would want to sit at a cool small town feel airport bar while eating/drinking or waiting for friends flying in, etc ???? I dunno just seems like bad layout and use of the space to me.

I got the Spicey burger.. It was really good, but small... Like really small.... The fries were good, all 6 of them. Kind of thick twisting fries. Beer was cold and good, I would have had 2, but line was too long AND didn't want to wait... I dislike sitting at picnic tables....

Well I went as far into Havasu as I wanted to go[emoji1]and tried the place out. I think the concept is great with the tables lined out the way they are. It brings people together in lieu of everyone sitting in their own private area. The beer was great and we had the nachos which are new on the menu. They were great as well.
Isn't it a bit far out for locals or is that just my thought?

We eat out almost every night and we still haven't gone up there. Maybe one of these days on the way back to town or something.

Been there once, thought it was pretty good, will go back. I live in the South end so might go to Tavern 95 more on the spur of the moment, but location isn't really much of a problem if you plan to go.

Lol...for many the drive out to the mall and Wallyworld feels excruciatingly far.

We have stopped in for food and spirits after some of our desert rides. The food has been good, drinks good and each time we have had staff come check on us to see if we need anything. Order your food and drinks at the bar and they bring it to us, I'm ok with that.
