Seeing that photo reminds me of hitting a 2' x2' square piece of 3/4" plywood at about 80mph one morning on LOTO. The skeg split the plywood right down the middle and each blade took a wack at it. Lucky for me the plywood had been in the water awhile and it was a little soft. My Mercury 30P ET prop came out of the encounter in perfect shape. I was coming down from over 100mph, but at speed most of the gear case is still out of the water. You can see the mark on the skeg where it split the plywood.
