in defense of the police I dont think they have many pursuits like that. I only know of one other recent one and it did not end well for the suspect.

I wish I had video, I watched as they tried to throw a spike strip in front of Javalinas when the chase was leaving the island. The cop threw it no more than 5’ from the curb, the car didn’t even have to swerve into the other lane to avoid it and then the cop almost forgot to put half of it back into his car to resume the chase.

"Keystone" or "Barney"? Probably don't get much practice with it though. May not have been the best area though. If he shredded the tires, runner could have damaged the bridge

Can't speak for HPD, but most agencies will only use a roadblock as a last resort.
