Havasu vinyl repair?

I left a dock line across the top of my bow seat a couple weeks ago and the line melted a small area of vinyl. I didn’t think that could happen, but I learned a lesson not to leave any lines touching the interior anymore.

Before I bought my boat there was a rip in the vinyl on the side of the seat, Cobra had the vinyl rip repaired and the repair still looks good.

Does anyone do that kind of work in Havasu?

Saw it with my own eyes. It is about 3” long and 1/2” wide. Crazy to think that a dock line could have caused it. Hoping that it can be fixed easily.

Had a buddy tie a line for me. He ran it across my vinyl and caused the same thing. I was so mad. He's a non boater, so it was pretty much on me.

A dock line caused a burn ?? I have never heard of such a thing.....

So..... lets say a black dock line is left sitting across my seat out in LHC and the sun heats it to the point of putting a burn mark across the seat ?

Is that what I should be understanding - I just . . . . just don't understand.

Yes that’s what happened! It was the really nice, soft lines too.

In direct sunlight, even the soft lines (like the ones slide anchor sells), get super hot. On older vinyl that is thinning already due to sun exposure, it can cause problems. Always lay a towel down on your seats if your lines need to lay on vinyl in direct sunlight.

If you happen to get to the Corona area with the part that needs vinyl repair then give Scott a call at number one vinyl as they are most likely the ones that repaired the vinyl that is if the whole vinyl skin wasn’t replaced at/by Cobra.
