Sad deal about the family and kids...isn't he the guy that had been ripping off people for parts on HB and PB for years?

So this guy, Brian Diez, killed his ex and almost everyone else in the house, kidnapped his own kids and then split and killed himself? That is just too screwed up.
So sad.:grumble:

This is a horrible deal all the way around but at least he didn't harm the kids like most of the people in these cases have been doing.....Sad deal for all.....

Names have been released. Dunno how to bring info over from PB. Sounds like the SeaTow operator from Havasu was among the dead.

Sad day for many.............please say a prayer for the families.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the families and friends of the victims. All too young. So tragic.

Horrible. I feel so bad for the family and the kids. I will pray for all involved. I don't know what makes people resort to this kind of behavior.

Even when a tragedy like this happens....It affects us all, I don't know anyone personally but this sucks......It makes you wonder what really is important in life. Alll the petty bantering that goes on has nothing to compare with this. Godspeed to the family's.

It does affect us all. This guy wasn't a nice guy and snapped. And reading some of the posts over on PB, it sounds like a few other people are not too far from snapping either.:(

It even made the Sacramento local news.
Very sad deal, I hope the injured pull through and the children are able to grow up to be okay. There is absolutely no point in trying to make sense out of things that don't make sense, and this is one of them.

Wife found this in our local news...

GLENDORA - A man believed to have shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and four others Saturday in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., had previously lived in Glendora, officials said Monday.

Police said Brian Diez, 26, entered the Lake Havasu City home at about 11:55 p.m. Saturday, shot the victims at close range and fled with his 13-month-old son, Cole, and 4-year-old daughter, Kaia, to Rancho Cucamonga. Diez shot his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children Deborah Langstaff, 24; her boyfriend Primo Verdone, 24; Russell Nyland, 42; Brock Kelson, 20; and Ashley Nyland, 20.

Diez's DMV records showed he listed Glendora as his home address prior to 2005, but has listed Lake Havasu City as his residence since then, Glendora Lt. Joe Ward said.

Diez was also arrested in 2005 by Glendora police for driving on a suspended license, Ward said.

Diez was then arrested on Jan. 17, 2010 in Pomona on a bench warrant regarding the 2005 arrest, Ward said.

Authorities said Diez brought his children to a relative's home in the 11900 block of Rue Way in Rancho Cucamonga before shooting himself.

Authorities said Diez fathered the children with Deborah Langstaff during a long-term relationship. The two were estranged at the time of the shooting. Langstaff had a restraining order issued against Diez earlier this year.
Lake Havasu City police Lt. Richie Sloma said Langstaff and Diez were involved in a custody dispute.

Police issued a nationwide Amber Alert at 2:52 a.m. in an attempt to find Diez and the children. The alert was canceled when officials learned he had driven three hours to Rancho Cucamonga.

Police found Diez's truck at a home on Rue Way and then found Diez dead at about 3:20a.m.
The two children were in the home when Diez shot himself but were safe with Diez's family members, authorities said.

A man at the Rancho Cucamonga house said it was too soon to talk.

Police in Arizona said the custody dispute between Diez and Langstaff, of Lake Havasu City, may have triggered the killings.

Not that anyone has said anything out of line so far, but I just want to throw out there that all of these people are boaters, and are our own so to speak.

The families are reading all of these threads, so please keep it respectful. Nobody cares what kind of guy Brian was at this point as that situation as resolved itself..

Only thing that matters now is support for the families.

This line hurts to read and I hope those kids have the support needed to overcome such tragedy. That is going to be hard to deal with and I hope the boating community helps these kids.
Very sad deal.
RIP to those lost.

Absolutely, how does someone contend with all that? And she had a screen name, either here or on HB, of "BulletProof". Amazing strength
