Havasu restaurant reviews- the short and sweet, the good the bad and the ugly

I know there has been numerous threads about the restaurants around town but figured it was worth while to start something short and sweet- cut to the chase no bullshit type deal. Occasionally I look on Yelp when looking for places to go but don't have the attention span for some of the reviews- Looking for honest cut to the chase feedback not a novel- pony up!

Barley Brothers- ate here over the week and food and service where terrible. Have eaten here for years and was never great but filled the void.

We aren't really picky and rarely complain or send food back. It's Havasu- no offense but don't have super high expectations but this trip food went back, spoke to the manger and it went back a second time. Service was super slow. Out of 10 people nobody was super wowed by their food. Probably won't be heading back anytime soon.

Tavern 95

Located on the south side of town. Kind of a whole in the wall (also owned by the same people as shugrues, barley brothers, etc...). Food and drinks were great service was awesome and it was packed. Definitely worth checking out.

Heard the same, never made it over there but heard the food and service was amazing.

Guess I'm going to have to start making the drive to havasu to get something decent, last few parker fine dining experience s left a bad taste in my mouth.

Our top pick as I am sure many others is Javelina Cantina. For breakfast burritos and subs to take on the Boat no one compares to Fat Subs by In and Out.

Every time I'm in town I try to go to Golden Horseshoe. The salad bar is worth going by itself. I always get overruled because nobody wants to drive across town for dinner.

I miss the days when my folks had a place in desert hills....

Had the Rack of Ribs today, wifey had their Tavern burger and it was great as always .

Only place to get 'broasted chicken' around here . 10 times better than 'the other place' and the onion rings cannot be beat . Take a couple of bags full of chicken and O'rings home when I don't feel like cooking .

Ate at Rusty's over by Adrenaline - stay away! Extra greasy and enough salt for the next two weeks. Yelp gives it 4 stars, no way! That site must be rigged.

Ate at the Golden horseshoe a few weeks ago. The food was OK but just OK. The soup was awful and I don't understand why people say they have a great salad bar, it was pretty limited. The steaks were so-so. all in all it's not worth the drive to the N. end of town.

Montana on the other hand was wonderful. attentive service and great food.

Barley Bros. used to be one of our favorites but they have really gone downhill.

Javelina Cantina sucks at to many levels to list.

Juicy's River Cafe is great. Really good food, pleasant people.

Black Bear Dinner is always good, nothing really special just good food with friendly service at a decent price.

Chico's taco's, never got a bad meal there. the salsa bar is really good with a fair amount of choice.

Taco Hacienda is pretty popular and the food is generally pretty good. Ask for their special hot sauce (salsa).

I agree....the food here is super, Hamburger buns are made on site and the flavors are great.............I have just had really bad luck with the service there but then again it's Havasu and service is pretty much "Hit or Miss" everywhere

Barley's has hit bottom, food mediocre at best, service w/o a smile....don't bother letting them know it's your birthday or any kind of special evening for you either, they just ignore it.

Yep, really a shame, they used to be one of the best in Havasu but the last few times have been pretty disappointing.

Yup, appears to be the same people, food and cheap prices, although I over heard some old peeps bitching because the price of coffee went up......All the signage is new on the outside of the building too....

I'm with FreeBird Peggy's Sunrise Cafe is awesome. Got to admit though I haven't tried all the others. Once I found Peggy's I figured I'd just stick with a sure thing. The girls that wait on you are super nice and the cooks are good and fast and food is great.

There's a new restaurant opening tomorrow in Havasu on the north side. I forgot the name but it started with a "C" and it looks nice from the outside. It was on the lake side of the 95.
