Does anyone know if you need a permit for a backyard patio extension?
I can’t find any specifics on extending a backyard patio (not extending roof off house) just extending concrete and adding pavers etc., to ground.

Anyone know if I need a permit for a free standing patio, thinking of a 12’x14’ish cantalliver patio. Someone said I’m good if under 200’ but I thought I saw patios need them, maybe that’s reffering to attached ? Thx

It’s probably changed, but it used to be 120 ft.² unattached and not built outside any setbacks.

I was told my setback is 15’ if my house is a reverse corner lot. How can I tell if it is, 15’ from PL which the PL is like 10’ away from curb line

Don’t know who told you that, and I’m not saying it’s wrong but it used to be 25 feet then it was changed to 20, it also matters what part of town you live in.🤣

I did an addition around 2005 or so and tried to get a variance of 3 feet. Didn’t happen I live on a reverse corner and it was 25 foot setbacks at the time. A year later they changed it to 20 feet. 😡

I’m not sure that the setbacks apply to freestanding, only attached structures.
